Questions about a reset & returning to the game
I'm thinking about restarting my heisting career after a long absence, and there's a couple of things I'd appreciate some advice on.

First off, will an in-game reset delete my achievements? Some of those were a complete pain, and I'd rather not do them again.

About mods; I have a couple of QoL mods installed like an akimbo single-fire mod and an LMG steelsights mod, are the lobbies still separated into modded/unmodded? I seem to remember that the matchmaking would discriminate based on whether you had mods installed, and would uninstalling my mods mean that I'd meet fewer cheaters? I assume they're still a thing . . . . .

And lastly, is there anything I should do before completing a reset? I'm already thinking there's a "burn all your money" thing in the safehouse, for instance.

Cheers for any help.

If you want to reset but keep your achievements, there is an option in the advanced settings. If you want a 100% reset, use this mod: https://modworkshop.net/mod/20933 Also, Modded lobbies are not seperated from unmodded. You are told if the host has mods, that's about it.

Do you want to do a full progress account reset or just a soft reset from the options menu? In game reset only reduces your spending, offshore, infamy, continental coins, and level to 0, everything else should be untouched if I remember correctly, I myself did a soft reset about a year ago. Full progress requires mods other finagling but reduces everything down to stats and heists completed to as if you never played the game. For mods lobbies aren't separated from crime.net in my experience, but then again I've only been playing since about 2016, but you will be able to see the host's mod list before you join a lobby. The burn all money thing will be covered by the reset as well, but if you want the trophy that you get from doing it before resetting you can go for it.

I think it's fair to answer no to all three of those questions.

The reset does not affect steam achievements so long as you don't have a mod installed that expressly makes it reset them. it will affect the in game ones in the safehouse menu.

You can choose to discriminate and filter out modders from your lobbies, I never used the feature so i honestly don't know the answer as to how exactly it works though so someone else might be able to explain it better. The best way to run into fewer cheaters is just play the game with friends

a reset would likely reset the burn the money thing, so unless you want to go out of your way to unlock every steam achievement before you reset i don't personally see any reason to do something before.

So an in-game reset it is, thanks folks.

This should make matchmaking a bit more reliable, thanks again.

I'm running mods called "Lobby inspect" and "Lobby player info" and while I don't remember exactly what they both do, hopefully they'll help me avoid game-breaking cheaters. Not many of my mates still do much PD2, sadly, so I might take the plunge into public lobbies. I'm still going to burn all that cash though. Cheers for the help.
