Can you get banned in Payday 2 for using cheats/mods"hacks or what ever ?

well.. i was actually wondering i like to play solo a lot in this game and ive seen some mods that are tagged as "cheats/ hacks and some players are actually tagged in game for using mods; cheats some for using invalid weapons

i actually found a website called gab's mods for payday2 seems legit to me i actually tried a few mods from there and works fine no funky stuff or shady stuff also a few from modsworkshop but one of my friends was tagged in game as cheater for using a mod so i was wondering CAN you EVEN be banned from payday or get you steam account banned or even a VAC(wich it would make sence to me but idk) because you used mods such as mentioned or like stuff such as god mode or idk unlimited ammo idk if such thing is possible but hey

quick search on google i actually found a few post on reddit and other webpages and comments such as

"No. At the very least you may give them the impression that either it's something they can do later on or that the game has a real (cheater) problem. ."

you mean like mess with the game file ? or putting in mods that change the game in any drastic way

No you can't, this game is p2p, there are no servers you could get banned from.

Since discussion of cheats is against steam content rules I’ll lock this thread. See to the linked thread for the official answer on cheating vs modding. However, the piracy that is being discussed is against the law and steam forum rules so that will be removed altogether.
