anyways i see many people use it in public games, i dont see why it wouldn't work, do you have difficulties in downloading mods and using them? you can always try it and then delete it if it doesnt work, if it does mess something up and everything is still messed up you can always reload a earlier save from your steam cloud and continue on like nothing happened.

"What goes too far?
Anything that can cause other players to have less fun will be removed. This also includes mods that make the game significantly easier just to unlock achievements. Anything that lets you unlock something without putting any effort in won't be allowed. Use common sense and you'll have no problems!"
"This also includes mods that make the game significantly easier just to unlock achievements." thats the main issue here, you can literally play as you usually would as a level 100 with your prefered ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ judge anarchist/stoic set up, and oh hey! i can infamy and get right back up to level 100 in an instant just for playing how i usually would play!
"if it ends up speeding leveling by not wasting the exp i obtain at max level, then i do not find it as a cheat." neat, you can continue on doing that, but it is a cheat, thats like saying "imma go faster than the speed limit, i dont consider it breaking the law im in a hurry officer"
"honestly, if my life did not had an arbtrary time limit wich i never know when it might end, i would play normally, but time is the only thing you can't get back" if time is so precious, dont waste your time on this game, if you dont want to spend time grinding for something, then dont, or cheat your way to it, the infamy system is kind of ment for people who want to waste their time grinding infamy, you can just infamy once and have the same build potential as anyone else since at infamy 1 you dont need to spend as many skill points to get to the skill at the top.
As for the cheating part: I'm in two minds about this mod personally. You still have to play enough heists to level up. You actually lose out on XP with this mod - only 70% gets banked so you have to play more heists to level up through infamy. Instead, get to skip the annoyance of speedrunning the same boring DSOD stealth heists over and over (which is not how I would ever play actually, as I can't be bothered to grind the same heists over and over just because they grant a large amount of XP which is why I am still only level XXV despite over 1000 hours).
On the other hand, I wonder if never being a low level player again has an impact on someone's skill in this game - are they missing out on getting better at the game by just skipping up the ranks of infamy? Have people who have used this mod had an advantage over me given my glacial pace of infamy levelling since I can't be bothered to grind? Eh, don't really care. If you're high infamy player with low hours or just a bad player, you kicked from my lobbies regardless.
You basically bypass it, that means you keep your level but receive around the same amount of xp you would get by infamying. Ah yes, 120 skill points for the entire infamy, BALANCED!
I didn't know this. Is this a widely-known feature of Payday? First I have heard of it. Also, it's intended effects of discouraging low level players from joining high level lobbies is not working - non-infamy, sub-80 level players join my DW and DS lobbies all the time. Also, how do the maths work out. Is the loss of XP due to a low level higher or lower than the loss of 30% of XP from this mod?
Depending on what Jobs you do and when, it can be as much as a 60% XP penalty on the Base XP
XP penalty multiplier is calculated as: 1 - [jc(heist) - jc(player)]/100
"To calculate experience, a player's current level is rounded up to the nearest multiple of 10. This number represents the maximum jc value heist that a player can still complete to obtain the full amount of experience."
So the lowest JC a player can have is 10, and the highest JC a job can have is 70. The Bulk of jobs have JC 30, however the higher XP jobs seem to be around the 60 JC (40-70 JC)
Good info here: https://payday.fandom.com/wiki/Reputation_(Payday_2)#Level_Limit
Thanks, I don't have a head for figures but it sounds like the decrease in XP based on being low level could be quite significant. I'm going to read that page more closely to understand how the penalty works.
tbh i dont care if people cheat in games as long as it does not effect my experience or screw the economy of a game like an mmo
