Kinda what I wanted to say. The game has ~50 DLCs on top of microtransactions. Balance is all over the place and non-PC versions are almost abandoned.
Like 1 map, 1 heister, 2 weapons, 1 perk deck and useless ♥♥♥♥ nobody cares about to fill it up (4 melee reskins, 4 masks, 4 patterns, 4 materials) so it doesn't look so empty.
All that in 2 DLC that are both 7 bucks and don't go on sale at all at the next sale.
Even if they could have made a profit with selling it both together for 5 bucks.
Oh hi Clover
...Since when does OVK make DbD ?
-----------------
On topic : EA buys Starbreeze and OVK, Payday franchise gets milked dry and dies, DbD gets killed off/milked some more then dies, new Walking Dead game gets released as is, incomplete and full of bugs, then killed off silently.
Just like you see with everything else they do that isn't Battlefield.
And the Dev teams all get fired and studios either filled with new devs or dissolved outright.
Can't happen though, since the games have steamworks and/or Valve's Market System embedded, and EA refuses to do business with Valve on that level.
The cost would outweigh the profits.
And we all know that EA only answers to it's shareholders...
There is nothing left that isn't ruined.
OVERKILL isn't that bad, but still have a tiny issue of "Your opinion, our choice".
That's literally what every other company does. You don't just make plans for huge content updates and then scrap it because a few people didn't like it.
Lol
"Stats say otherwise! Players seem to be loving it!"
Until... the numbers don't say otherwise lol.
"You" also don't make your community jump through hoops or threaten to not release the content. Like boosting people's twitters.
i have to agry.starbreze is a bad puplisher too. i wasnt there from the start in payday. i joint 1-2 month after the microtransaction stuff. but what i saw is that ovk tried to rollback alother bad stuff from the past.
if they did a good job is on a other page. i disagree with a few stuff, most is how they did the ethan dlc. if they whant to help them ok, but youtuber as heister... even ronald mc donald would have been a better choice.
but you could see that the will was there after they bought theyr rights back.
and yes AAA= bad game nowadays. :/
...And, at this point in this hypothetical scenario, enough pigs are flying that you could solve world hunger by selling pork wings.
Say what you will about Overkill, but they're literal, canonized saints compared to EA. There is no remotely realistic scenario in which EA owning the Payday license would be a good thing or even an improvement.
I know that "Overkill is the new EA" was a spicy meme back in the day but honestly those people were WAY off the mark from an overly literal standpoint (I, personally, would compare them more to modern Capcom). EA is an all-consuming black hole where anything good in gaming goes to die.
Good idea, thanks.
