Why Ethan & Hila?
First of all, i just wanted to say that i am NOT complaining about the Ethan & Hila character pack. Infact, i am also a fan of h3h3

With that out of the way, i wanted to know the reason as to why OVK decided to create a character pack and forward 100% of its purchase to a Youtube channel.

I mean by that logic, shouldn't they have made a bunch of DLCs helping other people 'in need' too? Why the special treatment to h3h3?

They get the proceeds because youtube cut their funding

Almir is a fan of H3H3.

Almir loves H3H3 and people wanted a joke to be real.
They made an april 1st joke about adding Ethan and then people made a petition to add them in the game. Whether or not the petition made a difference or Almir was already planning to add them all that matters is that all of the money from the DLC will go to support H3H3 While they deal with a lawsuit and the whole youtube ads not paying them.

As you might or might not know Ethan and Hila (H3H3) are currently involved in a lawsuit, which already cost them probably over 100k $ and if they lose this lawsuite, it will not only end their career, but also set precedent in US law, which will affect EVERY content creater on youtube in a negative way. Thats why this is so important and everyone should care about it even if you dont like them. And i guess if there is money left after the lawsuit, it will most likely go to the FUPA as well.

Seems like something good. But I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of other ways to give donations.

Well there are of course, but this way they might get the attention of the Payday 2 community, who did not know about this lawsuit yet. And people usually dont tend to just donate money, but here they get a new character in return.
And i mean they are a business and they obviously also benefit from this, because its marketing.

Yeah, i know about the lawsuit.

I guess i just find it weird that how one guy in a company is a fan of a youtuber then the whole company try to support that youtuber.

I mean i know Almir is the head of overkill or something and he can do whatever he make the company do whatever he tells them to but again, i find it a bit mind boggling

If I heard correctly during the stream Almir mentioned that Ethan and Hila went to the Overkill HQ and got to meet most of the staff, the majority of whom enjoy their content and subsequently wish to support them. Even if Almir made the decision by himself, I'm sure the staff would be in support of supporting them.

I'm not trying to argue or cause beef, but from what I heard a lot of the staff really like h3h3, so they all want to help them with the lawsuit in any way they can.

Almir isn't the head of Overkill. He's their Global Brand Director. Bo Andersson (the brother of Wolf's voice actor, Ulf) is the CEO of Starbreeze and by proxy Overkill.
