Should I buy the $1 version of the game?

Absolutely worth it for a dollar, all of the dlc can be played without buying them, you'll just be missing out on the dlc weapons and mods.

I've invested 77 hours into the game with barely any DLC. So I'd say its worth it.

The one dollar version is so cheap for a lot of content and a great game. I find it hard to imagine anyone could truly regret such a small spend for what you get, which is a fully functional and very well polished and developed professional game. The Legacy pack with the huge pile of DLC included is also very much worth it as is really expands the game a lot and if you like what you see in PD2 you can't go wrong with it, especially during a sale when it is being sold at what must be over 90% off discount from original release prices.
