Search for ingredients in and around the house. Try to grab the ingredients outside the house first. You can find them in the basement, the pickup truck, and the two sheds.

Bain will tell you exactly which ingredient to put in. He will first say an ingredient. Then he will either confirm it, or correct it. Examples:
  • "It's soda. Caustic soda." "I'm 65% sure." - This is Caustic Soda. Put it in.
  • "Muriatic Acid." "Wait a minute, I messed up! It should have been hydrogen chloride!" - This is hydrogen chloride.
As long as you wait for Bain to say both voice lines, you will always know exactly which ingredient to put in.

Install meth helper for starters then you will learn with practice

Ingredients are scattered around the map.

Bain will tell you an ingredient. After a few seconds, he will say something else. If he names a different ingredient, his first voiceline was wrong. If he says literally anything else, he got it right the first time.

Once you've picked up all of a single ingredient type from the map, you can light a flare to bring in more ingredients. This cycle continues indefinitely.

Once you've bagged 3 batches of meth, Twitch will occasionally show up for a short time, allowing you to secure your loot and escape if you wish.

Aside from that, just learn to conserve ammo and not die. You'll do fine.

Or you could actually use your ears and listen to Bain, like a normal person, Meth Helper doesn't help someone learn the system, it just tells them the ingredient,
It's the equivalent to going in a maze when you are being told what ways lead nowhere as you reach the choice

Except the only advice you need is to wait, that's how I learned it (because the PS3 version didn't have mods, the irony though, is that pubs ALWAYS blow the lab in that version, because early Rats XP rushing).

It may be useful to learn from, but you can get the same result from waiting for Bain to respond.

Really, all the mod does is remove the need for waiting for Bain to confirm the ingredient, which doesn't really help you to look past his stupidity, it just rewards impatience, which isn't good for trying to learn the game, and people can become dependant on that because they can't be bothered to learn the system.

Can't believe im having an argument with someone for more than 1 comment and he didn't start attacking me personally, You need a trophy for that honestly.

Anyway i agree with you all it does is remove the waiting and yes people can become dependant on the mod..

But when i first played cook off, i hear him saying like add muriatic acid.. im 61% percent sure,
i never add anything until he confirmed it twice, it just depends on how you use the mod thats it

I haven't used it personally, but from what I've read, it also helps when Bain decides to say some irrelvant useless line (like "cops are coming from the woods"), which then triggers an unneceessary cooldown before he says the next cooking-related line.

I'm not that kind of person to insult people because of a disagreement, that's just childish behaviour if you ask me.

I can agree with that, but I think useless lines like that don't occur if you use the 'mute contractor voices' option, but I'm not too sure about that
