what is best primary assault rifle for damage?

i want to be able to kill stuff on higher difficultys

my current weapon just feels like it takes way too many shots and uses way too much ammo

m308 can go auto, just press v

DMRs are the best for damage, but if you can't go single fire, try the AMR-16

every difficulty above overkill summed up.

if your issue is ammo then the lower damage ARs are actualy better since they gain more damage per drop (damage per shot * bullets per drop).
but for DMRs the best 2 are hands down the car-4 DMR and the AK rifle DMR.
both will do 160 damage before any other atatchments or skills.
and unlike the other DMRs they have a (relativly) high pickup at 3.2, the next highest being the M308 at 2.11 per drop.
the prior 2 can have 60 round magazines whereas the latter is restricted to a 10 round one.

if this is the case then you should go for high ROF over high damage per shot.
it wont reduce the bulllets to kill but it will make it faster, and all of the following weapons have very good pickup rates.
buzzsaw 13.77 bullets per drop and 1200 RPM
clarion 13.77 bullets per drop and 1000 RPM
micro uzi 12.84 bullets per drop and 1200 RPM.

BE ACE is good for anything up to OK but i would not reccomend it past that.

There's no best assault rifle, every weapon has its own weakness and strength

If you want full auto assault rifles to really melt cops you have to invest in frenzy and crits. A jp36 (which has the best ammo pickup of all the assault rifles) with Berserker, Silent Killer and Low blow will absolutely melt anything you fire at. It's very effective when mixed with anarchist.

Not enough points to go around. If you're rolling sentrys you need to fill the entire sentry tree for them to be effective. Focus on wepaons with high pickup with setnry builds.
