Would a player be banned for using a cheat engine or tool in singleplayer?
Before I go any further this isn't another "Will I get banned for using SA?" thread. No, this is a little more specific. The title says it all really. Would someone be banned for using a cheating tool only for singleplayer use and their enjoyment?

this game doesn't have any anticheat feature. using mods or cheats is fine just don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and mess with other people's game.

Right. I guess it's sort of like GTA mods. Singleplayer mods are fine, but don't use them in online mode.

Well, it's for single player only, so I say, knock yourself out.

If you use them in your own lobby by yourself and/or with consenting players, it's fine.[citation needed]

I don't condone using cheats to unlock achievements, though.

As for the anti-cheat system, it's really ♥♥♥♥. As in, the best it can do is detect players that use a DLC or skin that they don't actually own on Steam. Some mods, however, can detect cheaters before they even ready up. Examples:
  • NGBTO
  • Lobby Player Info
  • Cheater Kicker

Things like god mode and infinite ammo aren't detected by the default in-game anti-cheat.

That's true. I've never seen the anti cheat bust anybody for flying or being invincible lol. Always for using an invalid item.

You can cheat all you want, offline and online. Most players, including myself will kick you out but you wont get banned or anything, worst thing that can happen is having a cheater mark above your head.

Usually, that red cheater tag above your username (which you can't see yourself) will, at the very least, raise a few questions. That is, of course, if the automated kick system doesn't automatically detect, label, announce and kick the supposed "cheater" first.

TL;DR: Don't ruin other peoples' fun and don't admit to being a cheater on the public forums. Anyone can take screenshots with almost any piece of technology nowadays, and you generally don't want to do that anyway.

Most companies, especially those big "tech giants" (Facebook, Google, Apple, etc), will keep an archive of everything and anything their users do with their products. What you say online will permanently stay online.

I wasn't planning on cheating anyways. I like the gameplay too much to mess with it. Even if I was playing alone.

Used Cheat Engine a couple of times for testing, shenanigans or finding bits of data I needed. But it is pretty hard to not accidentally unlock some achievements if you only have a few.
