How to download mods ?

I've seen a lot of people using mods
i wanna download some
And does it ruin the game ?

To start with, you need SuperBLT to play with mods.
1. Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable package (x86).
2. Download SuperBLT and move WSOCK32.dll to Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY 2.
3. Open the game and the game will automatically download the missing SuperBLT files.
4. Open game and click the window on the left in the game menu (installed mods) - Select SuperBLT - Click Check for updates - The current version SuperBLT is 1.1.6.0

Optionally, download the Beardlib library.

Finally, go to modworkshop.net and download the mod you want.

You must create a folder named mods in Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY 2.

Often, the mod description says how to install the mod. If you will be of help, ask for it.

Most often you install BLT mods simply by extracting the folder with the mod name into the mods folder.

well not all mods will ruin the game, i remember before i bought the steam version , i had some weapon mods which were cool , and did not ruin the game , but there are mods that may be incompatible , or might break the online sessions because other players don't have that mod installed , and there are mods intended for cheating , once i was playing with a friend , mid session his friend joined the heist and he had a mod that enabled him to cheat in game like buying extra assets and stuff beyond the games limit , he did make my game crash twice after a few dozen cheat codes he used , and did ruin my game , so i didn't join the session anymore , so yes there are mods that have the ability to ruin and F the game.

I'm wanting to try some mods too since I've been playing for years and just want a new gameplay to give the game new life; I want to use Silent Assassin or have been looking for unlimited pagers; for offline mode solo play.

If you don't already know, Silent Assassin is considered a cheat by devs and the community, so you should probably not mention it in a thread where OP has a very basic idea about mods. At least it's good that you're using it for offline instead of subjecting others online to it.

Cool to know! I was worried about bans, etc (which is the main reason why I haven't touched mods yet) but didn't know which mods were OK and which were not. I heard there's an achievement locker so it won't affect it if modding but I'm very noob with Mods so more research for me. I just want to play for fun but don't care about XP, money, etc.

I understand, when I was first learning mods I was interested in Carry Stacker. While Pirate Perfection, any achievement unlocker, all skills unlocker, infinite deployable tool like the one the 2nd comment mentioned, etc are very obviously cheats, there are some mods that are in a grey area.

Carry Stacker and Silent Assassin are known because even being in that grey area, so much of the community considers them cheats that even the devs have voiced their agreement with that. But there is not a sure way to know what is cheat and what is not.

If you are completely decided in using Silent Assassin, even knowing it's a cheat, use it only offline, blocking your achievements, and please don't mention it in the forums lest you want a community ban. But I strongly encourage you to not use it, stealth in this game is difficult, but that mod is way too OP.
