A Definitive List of the order of missions?
One thing I always found confusing about this video game is how it's kind of hard to tell which mission follows another. Is there a list that details what order you should play all the missions to understand the lore and what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I know the game has a story mode but it makes you play everything on lower difficulties at first which is quite irksome. But if I have no other choice I might have to do it that way.

Enter Crime.net or Crime.net Offline and check the top left corner, there should be an option called 'Storyline'. It should guide you along the story. (I don't know if it has all heists or not, I never finished it.)

You don't need to play the missions at that difficulty, just go to the contact broker and buy the contract at a higher difficulty ... Or join public games.

Does it still fulfill the Story Mode contract if I complete the mission on a higher difficulty?

Considering it says "in x difficulty or higher", yes, it does.

You can use either the official storyline or play them in the order they were released.
I mostly preffer release order as storyline, but opinions may vary.

I think there you have all heist, but lots of times it asks you to choose a mission or another
