Judge and Akimbo variants but they have terrible pickup rates
Everything else works fine too
Except Grims, they're more specialized
But you can make a very good shotgun build with using an Izhma (Critical Hit build with 000), or just the basic sprint and shoot with the Locomotive.
Get the stakeout or double grimms and DB ammo.
Win at everything.
but yes shotguns are very worth it
wrong, the ultimate crowd sweeper is rocket launcher
Secondaries:
Judge: I personally can't recommend the akimbo one due to its terrible ammo economy and frankly being overkill for most enemies. The single one, however, is a solid backup weapon for just about any build, especially with slugs or HE to give yourself an anti-shield/anti-Winters weapon, particularly if you need concealment. Alternatively, you can use it as a guard launcher in a stealth build with 000 buckshot.
Grimm: A bit of a specialized weapon in this case, but basically the way you want to run this is with dragon's breath, which does the same amount of DoT regardless of how many shots hit an enemy. It basically works like the flamethrower used to prior to the rework and MA-17's addition.
GSPS 12G: Comparable hitting power to the Judge with a larger magazine and, it seems, slightly better ammo economy. This thing I usually put 000 buckshot on and use as my 'primary' while my primary's something more specialized.
Primaries:
Predator: The main reason this is here is because if you're not going to use Crime Spree to skip levels right after going infamous, this is one of the handful of weapons you'll have available at level 0. Run it with an Interceptor .45 and you've got a pretty solid loadout for grinding out those first 20 levels or so...hell, it's STILL a good loadout past that if you know what you're doing.
Mosconi and Joceline: These are both here because they're basically sidegrades to each other depending on whether you want something concealed or not. If concealment is more of a concern, run the Mosconi, while the Joceline gets an ammo pouch that increases your max ammo capacity with the weapon if concealment is less of a concern. I've read that the Mosconi has SLIGHTLY higher DPS, but I've found that in practice that they're about the same.
IZHMA and Brothers Grimm: Again, these things are kind-of sidegrades of each other, but in this case it depends on other factors. The Brothers Grimm can have a much larger ammo pool, but you do need to invest heavily in skills and maybe use the Hitman perk deck for that. That said, the latter is easier to run in a crit build if you don't have Ultimate Edition.
Raven: A shotgun that pretty much rendered the Reinfeld and, to an extent, the Locomotive obsolete, able to do just about anything depending on its configuration. Also a good option as a guard launcher in stealth.
Akimbo Goliaths: In my opinion the best of the akimbo shotguns. Not only do they sound like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cannons when you shoot them, they deal a LOT of damage on top of having really quick reloads and huge magazines with the right skills.
any way ill give a try at the primary shotguns now
I'd recommend using a different SMG (the Krinkov or CR 805B specifically if you want to use one in the same damage class as the MP40). The MP40 is pretty much a worse version of the Swedish K, useful only in a Wehrmacht-themed build (and even then I'd argue you'd be better off with the Parabellum as a secondary if you're running the Buzzsaw).
