1080i only?
So I recently got into Payday 2 after getting it free a while back and even though I am running it with the graphics maxed out it only seems to display in 1080i @ 50HZ but after messing with the options it will display 1080p @ 60HZ if I disable fullscreen.
I use a 40 inch standard HD TV as my PC monitor and all my other games run fine at a resolution of 1900x1080. It's not a big deal really for my to use 1080i but I was curious why this specific game wont output 1080p @ 60HZ.
Does anyone know a fix? I saw online that you change the XML file or something but I cant seem to find that in my installation folder.
Thanks.

Please try looking for the file "renderer_settings.xml" somewhere in the AppData folder (something like C:\Users\*yourusername*\AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2). Open it with a text editor and check if all the info is correct, especially the refresh rate.

What brand of TV?
Also, what cable are you using? (DVI, HDMI. DisplayPort?)

I use a HDMI cable and it runs all my other games at 1080p 60HZ but not Payday 2.
I also cant seem to find that file to edit it. It's not in my Payday 2 installation folder, or if it is I cant see it.
Seems some other people have had this issue and they say by changing that file it's resovled but since I cant find it I cant edit it. There is an XML document called content. Is this the one I should change? It's not in the path that Henry Swanson suggested though and it appears to contain HTML text.
It's not a major issue as the game runs smoothly for me but it's a little annoying.

The renderer_settings.xml file is not in your installation folder, but in AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2.

Are you on Windows 10? Then please try looking for it this way:

1. Press the Windows Key + r and type %appdata%. Click on OK or press enter.

2. The AppData\Roaming folder will now open. Go one folder "up", or in our case to the AppData folder.

3. You should see three folders. Open the Local folder.

4. You should now see the PAYDAY 2 folder. Open it.

5. You should now be able to see the render_settings.xml file.

6. Open it by right clicking the file, then go to "open with" and select Wordpad, Notepad or any other text editor.

I am using Windows 7. I found the folder eventually. I had to show hidden folders using CP.
Thanks for replying.
Cheers.
