How does the "CHEATER" tag work?
From what I understand a person is flagged as a cheater if they equip items or DLC they do not own or do something in game like deploying too many assets. This tag is removed once the offending user leaves the game and removes the illegal items or mods. Is this how it works? Did I miss anything?

I have played with a user running Silent Assassin on crime spree. While this mod does give a big advantage, it makes sense due to the extreme disadvantage CS gives stealth missions by removing your pagers. Is this mod considered a hack or a cheat? I was thinking about installing it myself but I am not sure.

Is more a "DLC Unlockers" Tag

There is a reason CS gives players a disadvantage.
There is also a reason why players get SA. To exploit it as a cheat.

Don't install cheats.
Silent Assassin (you have to be horrible @ Stealth to use this.. -w- )
Carry Stacker (I have used this before in the past, and it makes the game horribly unfun to play. Also, you really have to be bad to use this.)

These too.

SA is considered to be cheating by most. But I personally don't mind if someone uses silent assassin in a private lobby to learn the map and then do it legit. I think that is an ok since they run it on their own lobby with maybe some friends in it. That is the only exception I would give is for those noobies that want to try out the map and they don't want to watch a youtube video walkthrough.

Everybody else, man the ♥♥♥♥ up and just play the damn stealth mission without cheats. You should've already learned that stealth is extremely easy in this game once you finish your first runthrough. SA is no different than just having a function that kills all guards with a click of a button.

But the issue is we know that most people that get SA aren't using it to only learn the map or using it to make it harder by reducing the pager limit.

It's probably around the amount of people using Buccaneer Betterment for cases where they fall off the map, loot is despawned, flags won't trigger, etc. without ever using it to cheat.

It just works. - Todd Howard

Basically what the previous replies said. It doesn't even detect how many skill points you used. (love the all skills bug back in new skill tree beta)

For normal missions I agree 100%. But even with SA one mistake will ruin a crime spree with no pagers. That's the only use case I can see for it, to give an actual chance to stealth mission in Crime Spree without it being considered a wasted spree the second you take the mission. Maybe it would be best to just wait for stealth in CS to be rebalanced. Also, mods like SA won't work unless the host is running it, right?

Yes, host requires it.

Or go loud. As is, exploiting stealth is why high crimesprees are possible. You're not waiting for stealth in Crime Spree to be rebalanced, you're waiting for stealth in general to be rebalanced.

I mean the stealth only missions. And no.

Yea, I know. It's just the reality we have to deal with. I honestly don't consider it any different to someone using pirate perfection. It's like "oh, you're a cheater". Both to me are the same. I just leave the lobby, sigh a little, and host or join something else.

It's just like, it happens so often that you'll go insane if you focus on every case. You just accept that it's the reality and then move on. Run NGBTO when you host, it'll get 99% of the cheaters. And then you can run that second mod that people talk about if NGBTO isn't enough.

It sucks but that really is the only thing you can do as individual. A lot of local groups of you and friends and moderation if you host public.

Overwolf is a replay system in league of legends, CSGO but it will give you a cheater tag too
marijn211 Feb 24, 2018 @ 2:27pm
IT DOES NOT DETECT CHEAT PROGRAMS JUST WHAT THEY DO
1. It marks someone cheater when someone has an item in their EQUIPPED loadout that is of a dlc that isnt owned
2. Using to many deployables although cheaters seem to have found ways around that
3. Seeing if the current level of a person is possible and comparing it to the number of played heists
It doesnt really have more (working) functions

It doesn't. Also, considering you can get to XXV-100 in 26 heists...
