Assault rifles (64 dmg):
Union 5.56 for fast ROF (80 max acc), UAR for high accuracy (88 max acc)
SMG (64 dmg):
Kobus (72 max acc), Mark 10 (68 max acc but higher ROF with more ammo and pickup rate)
40 dmg rifles have lower accuracy and needs damage boosting skills (crits and/or berzerker frenzy etc), 90 dmg rifles and DMR (160 dmg) have poor ammo pickup so you would need ammo bags.
For example, SMGs are one of the worst, most subpar and oversighted weapons in the game, but on overkill difficulty they are actually pretty fun and their many flaws with skills don't show. Meanwhile, LMGs are one of the best weapons you can imagine, but the ROF has no meaning when you kill enemies with 2 bullets anyway, and are just stuck with a pretty long reload.
(Stop reading if you don't want long explanations)
To make this more simple, a quick rundown:
Assault rifles and SMGs: basically the same mechanic, but SMGs are worse. Divided in DMR, heavy, medium and light in terms of damage (SMGs don't have DMR). DMRs are terrible due to high ammo consumption. The other classes:the more damage, the quicker your ammo will deplete. AMR destroys but you always need ammo, JP36 is basically a spiked peashooter with endless bullets.
Shotguns: one pellet hit does all pellet damage. Better if one pellet hits the head. The higher damage ones are brutal but constantly reload. The ones like the Raven are better suited for range, but are good at everything. The normal damage ones destroy at close range. The Grimms with skills are incredible. Any shotgun with skills is among the top weapons.
Pistols: need more ammo, but not as much as heavy rifles, DMRs, Judges, etc. Incredibly godly only with skills. Better suited for dodge. The more damage, the less spammy you should play.
Snipers: you need graze. With it, the 500+ damage snipers are pretty incredible. Don't mix well with dodge. Time your shots.
LMGs: destroy anything at close quarters, with a bipod also far enemies too. Long reloads and quite the ammo consumption.
Specials: Grenade launchers are incredible for crowd control, and you always have ammo. Rocket launchers are situational: only use with bosses and heavy dozers, almost no ammo and can kill yourself. Bows are difficult to use, but the Plainsrider is pretty great. Crossbows are easier to use but still tricky bows. Light is best. Don't use any of both at range. Flamethrowers you need to tap instead of keep clicking. Great for crowd control, bad for immediately killing. Miniguns are different, somewhat worse LMGs. Saws should only be used as tools.
2. Rifle is bad because rifle cannot kill multiple targets with 1 bullet and its ammo pick up rate is much worse than Machine gun.
3. Depend on your primary weapon.
Usually, people bring Grenade Launcher as their secondary weapon since their primary weapon can kill shield easily.
But which weapons, models am I supposed to use ? Like m4 ,sk thats what I meant...something specific I meant not in general you know ? Like, list of top three lmgs, smgs, assault riflrs, pistols that sort of stuff
1. Take Medic Bag as your deployable.
2. Pick an ammo positive weapon.
3. Use overpowered skill such as Swan Song,Inspire, etc.
