Before the thread even starts: I know about the Better Bots mod, I use it, it's awesome, but this thread seeks out a bit more than what Better Bots offers.

Now, everyone knows about the Bots in PAYDAY 2, and how they're useless pieces of trash, can't even revive you in most situations. Playing with humans is in most cases better, unless they're randoms.

But something's always been bugging me about bots (get it? bugging me? cause bugs? even though this doesn't talk about bugs? ok I'll see myself out). People have developed mods to make bots dodge, make bots move like players, make bots think like players in combat, all that stuff. OVERKILL even took one of these mods in as an official gameplay feature (the Ask Bot to Carry Bag mod).

But if people work so hard on making bots better, why is there no mod to order them to actually stay still? Or, even better, perform an action like fixing a drill or restarting a hack?

I know that pressing Z orders bots to stay still, but that has it's flaws. I've noticed, for example, that if you stray too far from them, they'll ignore the hold command and follow you. This is terrible, because let's say you REALLY feel like playing sniper from a vantage point in the third day of Framing Frame, but have no one to play with, and instead rely on bots (because god knows randoms are worse than bots). Which, you know, happens.

Well unless you like going in and out of the vantage point constantly to fix the power and restart the hack, good luck with doing so, as the cops are always gonna be turning that ♥♥♥♥ off.

If only you could, say, order the bots to stay put near the circuit boxes and hold off the cops. Or even better, order the bots to fix the circuit boxes and then restart the hack on their own.

There's gotta be a mod for that, right? Well I've looked far and wide and I can't find one. Anywhere.

There's also the fact that bots can't help you in Stealth apart from a few nice buffs that help out a lot, but I understand that teaching bots how to avoid guards and install camera loops and ♥♥♥♥ would be HELL, so that's not necessary.

No problem! Schmuddel deserves the most credit, without him we wouldn't have it. Luckily others stepped in to make the bots better in other areas as well.
