How to get rid of trigger happy guards?
I hate those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's irrealistic, annoying, it ruins stealth heists, it's just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain in the ass to deal with. PLEASE tell me there's a mod or something to remove that mechanic from the game: Guards shooting burglars on-sight is a blight on this game.

You can most probably intimidate them with F before they start shooting you, then dispatch with them as you wish, not sure if there is a mod to remove this tho

The intimidate function is extremely buggy at least for me. I can have the highest threat possible, electrocute a guard, spam the intimidate button as fast as humanly possible, and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ will STILL OPEN FIRE!

I want a mod that removes guards just shooting you onsight. Unless you've killed/injured someone after they spotted you, that is.

I usually don't electricute a guard before trying to intimidate them, unless it's a loud heist, then sure

The threat stat has nothing to do with intimidation. Threat is how likely they are going to try and dodge your bullets in loud

The threat stat has nothing to do with intimidation. Threat is how likely they are going to try and dodge your bullets in loud
That makes no sense since the name "threat" immediately tells you "This is how much people will fear you" which you'd think would have something to do with intimidating guards.

Either way discussing the intimidate function is pointless because my point is still that trigger happy guards suck and I want to be rid of them, so unless you've got nothing to add to THAT discussion, I'd suggest leaving the thread.

Threat does NOT have any relation to taking guards hostage; it simply increases the chance of enemies crouching if they hear your silenced gun go off nearby (usually through the wall), and in loud, as stated earlier, the likelihood to attempt to dodge. Let's say you were a security guard, and you were being aimed at by two thieves (one with a pistol, and the other with a minigun). Which would you attempt to dodge?

Shout within 1.5 seconds to take him hostage; if you take any longer, he'll be too confident and will open fire. Note that, in stealth, shouting at guards used to not use up a pager if you had a certain skill; however, this feature is currently only existent in Notoriety.[www.roblox.com]

In stealth, guards deciding to shoot or not depends on a mechanic called Arrest Cooldown. Usually at the start of the heist, a player has no arrest cooldown so a guard/cop will attempt to arrest ("Freeze!"). When a cop is attempting to arrest, it starts the 4 minute cooldown. So the next guard that spots the player will immediately fire since it's still in cooldown.

There's some other details to the arrest cooldown, I recommend reading it in the Long Guide.

HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? You could kill a cop in another continent in a completely textbook manner, with no witnesses, no evidence, nothing, absolutely silent, and every single guard everywhere on earth would know "Gosh that guy killed a cop! How do I know this? I don't know, SHOOT HIM!"

Please tell me there's a mod to change that to an actually functional system.

You've just stated what has already been stated when it comes to the threat stat, and as I've already said it makes no sense.

As for the 1.5 seconds thing, that has never worked for me in the past and is still not working for me. And as for opening fire, that's total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I've had guards open fire on me IMMEDIATELY after spotting me, no 1.5 seconds grace period.

dont take a melee weapon that will cause the guard to shoot in stealth bring anything else. in bank jobs shoot guards when theyre not in view of cameras and bag them. if you get spotted u can do 2 things, either intimidate them immediately and they will give up as long as no other guards in thier line of sight or shoot them and hope they dont fire at the same time, but only if your gun can kill them in 1 shot.

Everything you said are basic stealth strategies that everyone knows and you have not added anything of use to this thread whatsoever. Unless you have a mod that can disable the engage attitude of guards, get out.

No, there is no mod to fix this but don't get PAYDAY started with logic. If the game would be logic you wouldn't be able to answer even one pager or carry bags of gold or kill guys with heavy armor in one shot etc.

The only thing that helps is reaction time, as soon as you hear the sound of being detected, press "Interact" and the guard will surrender immideately with a 100% chance.

Not true, done that a million times now and it hasn't worked.

Plus, even if it did work, the guards always shoot me instantly before I even see the "DETECTED" text
