How to instantly grab bags?
Hey there, I've seen on YouTube people seeing a bag and instantly grabbing it, without the interaction circle. When I press the interaction button (E, I don't remember if I modified it) I have to wait until it's complete to grab the bag. Is there a vanilla game way to insta-grab or is it because of a mod?

I believe the only way to instantly grab a bag is by catching it mid-air. You can actually do this yourself if you're solo, as I can't see there being much communication or synchronization to intentionally do this in pubs.

If a bag is in the air you can insta grab it.

If it is on the ground you have to hold

If it's on the back of an AI teammate you can insta-grab too.

Also happens when a bag is being carried by a bot.

You can cheese catch-in-midair achievements this way.

Also, sometimes bags bugs out and you can grab them instantly, as if they where in midair. It is not often, but it happened for me.

Interesting, thanks for the answers! To insta-grab in midair, do I just press E when the bag is close enough?

Oh I'm definitely cheesing the goat achievement this way. I mean, I've cheesed half my achievements, what's one more?

In the Goat Simulator heist, throw a goat in the air, kill one enemy and catch the goat before it lands. Unlocks the "Wet Goat" mask, "Hay" material and "Goat Face" pattern.

That was fun to get :steammocking:

Yeah, single button press is enough if you can time it well.

Speaking of that, sometimes it just doesn't come fast enough for me, especially in solo. It comes with several problems in strategy.

  • For example, if I'm rushing on Prison Nightmare, there's a small area where I actually have to look at the bag to interact with it, losing couple seconds to do anything with it due to not aiming precisely enough. Sometimes I'll just have only have enough time for 2 bags, and end up carrying the 3rd, if I'm lucky, I can do 4, but that's RNGing. For the money, it's still good. It's just not efficient for me though.

  • Or, in Hoxton Breakout, the driver is pre-programed (much to my chagrin) to stop at every place in the route where a random obstacle should be there or not, and at critical times I need to interact with it, there are dead spots that won't interact despite looking directly at a large object.

  • Distance-wise, in Watchdogs, for some reason the bags are in the very rear of the truck, but if I want to get them underneath, I have to wait to cut open the bottom, then toss them one by one. The tricky part then is that I want each bot, including myself, to have a bag as we go out, so I can get to the truck, but combined with the fact the door opens early, and I still have bags practically outside, it is more time consuming getting them through the hole despite still waiting for the drop off point. By the time I do get them all I am outside. However, it's super annoying even in Mayhem where the cloakers spawn, and while babysitting the bags in the truck that I'm moving elsewhere, it's not fun when the truck is on fire. However, it really makes no sense to me why the cops woukd also attempt to grab them all the same and not seem like theyll ecen burn, but i know it works with the incedinary.

It just kinda bad in this department with the whole detection/aiming situation. Someyhing i have to get used to, I guess.

Oh, but insult to injury, in the second day of Breakout, there isn't an issue when it comes to the FBI Director's office, especially since I can crouch behind the desk and not even get hurt. That annoying problem goes away when all I have to do is just look up at the screen. Go figure.
