Settings File Corrupt

I just installed Payday 2 after getting it when it was free a few weeks back. When I launch it, a menu pops up, which says "ERROR Settings file corrupt. Try loading again?" There is a yes/no box beneath this. However, I can't click either of the options, and my cursor won't show up. I can skip through the inrto screens, but I can't do anything on the screen that says "Press any key." Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? Thanks for your time.

Have you tried verifying the game files?

I have the same issue. I have verified the game files, restarted my computer several times. How could I have corrupted settings files when I've never played the game before?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

same issue. reinstalling right now. "settings file corrupt". so far ive been only in the hideout. will give status update soon

Exact same issue. Got it when was free few weeks ago, just installed and tried running. Gives same message

okay. redownloaded it. nothing changed. still corrupt, but it seems i get to keep my money.

So either the latest update affected some players or those that got the game for free have this issue. And I'm not going to unistall and then reinstall because it took me a while to download the game (Comcast sucks btw).

Me too. Got it free. Finished up some other games.
Started in on this, and got the same as the OP.
Verify did nothing.
Switching to tournament stream and back did nothing.

Reinstalling now. Slowly.
