To be honest it isn't just because she is japanese and anime weeb bla bla
it's far better than most of the designs I've seen and look also at the time it was published, a day before end of the contest and it already gained far more popularity(by likes and retweets) than most entries.

You may have different reasons to like this character concept than grounding it into an anime weeb fantasy, but it's pretty blatant that it owes it's short lived popularity to this fact.

As a character concept it's as weak as it gets.

I'm fine with what they picked but honestly what I really want them to do is to not ♥♥♥♥ up his character...

First, give him a reason for heisting, why would a history man (whatever you call it) want to heist? To steal money and buy artifacts? ♥♥♥♥ no that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason for him to heist, it needs more depth

Second, just because he's a history-lover doesn't mean his weapons should be ancient based like crossbows or spears, ♥♥♥♥ that too

Third, his personality, if it's gonna be another heister who swears and curses very often, it would be severely dissapointing, IMO I'd honestly prefer him to be the calm type, I mean we don't even have calm heisters... all of them are noisy when it comes to their jobs... except jacket, it'd also be a nice touch if he has one or two pager lines where he references history events in it

I wonder if people were actually looking at the papercraft and not the small art thing on top of the mask (talking about Sakura). Papercraft looks like nothing special really. Then again I wasn't that interested in those.
