The Hacker Problem...

It seems every other one down match I join or make has hackers in it. This is a problem. These people buy the game, and hack themselves the level and DLC. They're ruining the game, frankly. They mess up the games economy, in game and in real life. If you join a hacker lobby you're basically set until your next infamy, if you choose to infamy. Plus they avoid buying DLC with certain hacks, meaning OVK has to work with less money than they normally would.

Fighting this is simple. Don't accept hackers. Leave any game you join with hackers, kick hackers from your match, ♥♥♥♥, generally just shame them if you encounter them.

We can't let this ruin our community. We have to push back.

Did you seriously just call a Payday 2 lobby a "match"? You're fighting bots here, not players.

Anyway, hackers have existed for a looong time in this game. Overkill really can't do anything about it no matter how many times it's brought up. The best you can do is be a smart fellow by obviously leaving if you join or kick if you meet.

Unfortunetly the only way to reduce the number of hackers is by removing mod support, and nobody wants that. Overkill did say however that they are working on a feature where you can only see unmodded lobbies if you choose

There's a recent hack I've seen twice now where it autocompletes the level, giving you around 5 trillion in your spending money and around 2k coins. If you leave while it's counting all this stuff up, it dosen't save. That's how i've dodged it atleast

Yeah, I use a hud mod, but I could live without it if that meant there wasn't hackers.

As a million other threads have pointed out, there is no hacker problem. HYOG and use mods to kick hackers. Fixed.

Note: half the time you don't even need to HYOG, just tell the host how they're cheating -- cheater detector mod info -- and I'll bet the host will kick.)

A lot of people want that.

The modding community for Payday 2 makes up a significant portion of the playerbase. Killing mods would be an awful move and wouldn't go well for Overkill. The best they could do is implement some of the anticheat enhancers into the vanilla anticheat and possibly start issuing game bans to cheaters (they can do this, but they just haven't yet). I think if people start getting banned outright, fewer people will be willing to cheat.

Been shaming them for a long time. Been shaming noobs too, and even experienced players that f*** up badly enough. Or just because I don't like their name, if they're wearing a kawaii mask, the list DOES go on.

I like the idea of unmodded lobbies, but I don't feel comfortable playing without NGBTO on. I prefer to host my games, so if I turned off NGBTO, how could I be protected against cheaters joining my game?
