What do the masks mean?

This has been bothering me for some time. We know most of the new hiester's masks relate to them or their background culture.
But the original gang still had me wondering. Dallas's makes sence, the American flag, fighting for his freedom to fight the system. Wolf's mask, I've been told, is a demon mask. This again, makes sence because he has his inner demons being a nice guy gone bad. But what about Chains and Hoxon's old mask (now Houston's mask)? Hoxton could have gone with an all new look but he choose to keep the same clown face but with the burn added and a more meaner look.
Anyone have anything?

It's not exactly the same mask, It's differnt the eye's are now in a more sinster poistion from the old one's more hapless poistion, The burn is because he was both litterly and figurativly burned, He was stright up sold out by hector who he worked for and was the payday gangs friend up to that point, Not to mention he was THE hoxton before houston showed up and was stright up replaced so Dallas and the gang also burned him.

So he's still Hoxton, But he's changed now, He's more sinster even to civilians [He is FAR more violent dialogue wise to them.] and the fact that he got burned almost 3 fold, Even the masks smile is now an oil black grin like fuel to a firery vengence. And to top it all off the purple paint is mixed with eatch other and "Slopply" applied, Like a serial killer thinly disguising themselves as your friend by wearing his face.

But i'm also not an artist so the hell do I know...

Yes but, what was the meaning behind hoxton's old mask? Big grin and droopy eyes. It always came off as the least fearsom out of them all. (I don't know much about the first guy. Was he a lot nicer and sleepy or something?)

Oh whoops I misread it appears.

Well.. Hoxton was very cheerfull a con artist and very british back then, Since the british like mockery humor it's very possible his mask didnt reflect anything about himself and was more so a jab at the hapless average joe who works normal hours with low pay being tired and hating their job but throwing on a smile anyway, Calling them out as a bunch of clowns in the process.

As for Chains which I tottally forgot to even theorize about... He was a mercenary, But before that the Navy SEALs, The black marks under the eyes are probably potraying the under the eye warpaint that was fairliy common when potraying the SEALs, He was also a total thug on his rise to that point which is probably why the mask itself is made more brute like around it showing a more hardend thug look.

But once again I'm not an artist nor actually know, these are just theories.

For all the other masks out there yes. But, for the original main characters, I find that hard to believe.
