Stop 'prihatinin' other people's lobby
If there has been a big increase in the use of the mod, then clearly the number of people who enjoy playing with it has increased as well.
In all cases, if you can't find a lobby playing the game the way you want to play it, the best option is usually to host your own lobby by those rulesets. If enough people who wanted to play SA group-stealth couldn't find lobbies for it, they started making their own lobbies (hence the increase). Likewise, if people who want to play vanilla group-stealth are having trouble finding lobbies, they can make their own lobbies as well.
I totally understand your frustration in being unable to find a lobby under vanilla rules (with no mechanic-changing mods). But everyone has a right to play, and should be able to play the way they want to.
Best of luck in your future lobby searches.
Cheers
But who really cares?
Who does it truly hurt?
How does someone lowering the difficulty of stealth ruin your gameplay?
I don't see how SA public lobbies are any worse than people who would host public lobbies using National Response or Full Speed Swarm to increase the difficulty.
I personally think public lobbies should only host vanilla mechanics. But we all have our own opinions.
2)
"officially" = one moderator.
Since Almir's official post is tagged in the pinned thread for new players, and since it seems to contradict what the moderator said, I'm personally more inclined to follow the developer's guidelines.
If it was truly unsanctioned, wouldn't one expect there to be forum rules/moderation that restrict discussion about it, like PP and SAM?
EDIT:
Naming the mod a "cheat" doesn't mean people aren't allowed to use it.
I agree that it's a cheat. Just like anything that gives any sort of advantage over those who play Vanilla. Huds, Better Bots, Carry Stacker, what-have-you. But that doesn't mean people who use them are "getting away with" it. Nobody said they aren't allowed to use them.
Eventually, join a hi-lvl guy lobby (loud) and ask if he's up to play next mission in proper "stels".
Quite a few, like every cheat. In this case, it also hurts those that join at random because those cheaters (also like almost always, sadly) don't make their lobby private (or jump in a lake, which would be more beneficial for everyone).

Because it's A CHEAT THAT'S RUN PUBLIC. Hell, scrap the "run public" part - it's a cheat. And there is never a reason to defend any cheat for any reason besides research purpose of the games mechanics. And those people sure as ♥♥♥♥ aren't researching anything, they just want their victory on the highest difficulties handed to them for free.
Moderator? Ashley ain't a mod anymore, she's a representative of Overkill. You know, a few steps ABOVE moderator?
That post by Almir was never worth anything because it basically said "cheat like it's going out of fashion - as long as nobody catches you, it's fine". And that's the most terrible guideline if I ever saw one.
It is actually pretty well aimed. Cheats are cheats.
