Best working tweaks/mods for boosting FPS/optimization in 2017?
I have an old pc and i'm playing since beta in august 2013. One down - 30 fps. I need more.
My Specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66 GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX-650 1Gb

I know that my potato is potato, don't remind me of that please. I just want to know what mods/tweaks are working right now?
I did a clean install of PAYDAY 2. Deleted renderer_settings file to get a clean one.
I've installed some mods:

1. Low Violence Mode
2. No Post Processing! + Outlines Working + No Blue Filter on Main Menu v3
3. LemonCat MacroPack Smoke
4. LemonCat Macro Pack (No Cubemaps)

What else can i use? Is Lower shadow map mod V4.4 a11 alt working with latest update? Can i disable shadows? What mods can you suggest?

You want more, you don't need more. 30 FPS is decent to play on. I don't want to sound harsh but if you want more you need better specs. The fact you need that many mods to disable the different features of the game mean you are already over working your PC just to PLAY the game.

Now you want your old PC to not only play a game its underpowered for, but you want it to play at 60+ fps which is now gaming rigs territory.

The mods you have added have done all that can be done. There is nothing else to turn off. Shadow Map Mod is the only other mod that can be added and the last time I checked its no longer working.

You must've checked a long time ago. It's being kept up by someone else now and works well. ^_^

Small note, you linked the mod_override "Less Effects" mod (that was re-uploaded by someone else and renamed to less Lag for whatever reason) and put it under the BLT section of your post, instead of Chain Smoker/Almost Dead's mod.

Oh and I'll be making a note of your post to link when a thread like this inevitably comes up, probably next week. turns out it was less than 3 hours, if only people used Google...

no, 30fps is not enough for FPS game. first person shooters need very smooth gameplay and precise and fluid movement and aim, no input lag/delay, and similar stuff. so dont listen people sayin 30fps is enough (it is for console plebs maybe :P ). pd2 with 45-50fps is terrible to play, i had an old laptop besides my pc, and that is what i was getting on laptop, very bad experience. even smallest stuttering can ruin experience and downgrade your skills in a game, and with that enjoyment and potential.

to come back on topic, im not sure what these mods are called since i dont use em, but there are mods for disabling shadows, lowering corpse count, disabling fog, postprocessing, all kind of effects... also what might give you boost is downloading lower textures mods. use lastbullet aka modworkshop, youll find most of that there, if not everything.

It depends on the game. In games like CSGO or Insurgency where precision and immediate reaction/coordination is mandatory then yes you definitely need 60fps. It's not hard to aim at all in this game and 30fps is definitely enough as long as it is consistent, anything higher comes down to preference and your personal comfort.

Some files have issues especailly with nades. Make sure you remove the molotov, grenade and flash effect and you should be good.

Remove everything except the [HEIST] ones, it will conflict with other modsa nd I experienced lag with it. I also noticed an FPS boost in Big Bank and Bank Heists.

Go to task manager, right click PAYDAY 2, click details, right click again, then set the priority to high.

Uninstall any antivirus you have. They munch your frames a lot even if you turn them off completely. You don't even need them in 2017 as long as you know what you're doing on the internet.

Use CCleaner, amazing program.

Disable flush GPU in-game.

Full Speed Swarm with lowest setting possible gave me the same performance but with better AI. Very good.

Clean your HDD.

Edit your renderer settings and make SURE dynamic lights is off. In dark maps you can just turn your brightness all the way up but it's worth getting that extra 5-8fps.

Last but not least, unparking your CPU can be a game changer. I did this and I went from 20fps to 45fps when there are no cops. The more cores you have the better, this comes with two downloads. http://www.coderbag.com/programming-c/disable-cpu-core-parking-utility download, click check status, then unpark all of them. http://coderbag.com/Programming-C/CPU-core-parking-manager download, pull the slider all the way up to 100%. This will not harm your PC in any way as it's simply making it perform as well as it should. Good luck with this it works wonders with any games in general.

Just got of interest, which files do you delete to get rid of disabling flashes, molotovs, smoke and grenade effects?

Which an alarming number of people actually don't. So these people should just switch to game mode instead.

Same as above, great for some people who know what they are doing. I actually had some friends ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ up beyond repair with tools like this.

None of my friends or family had any problems with ccleaner. It's definitely safe and very popular as well, even some school computers have them.

If i remember right, delete all lua with the words flash, molt, grenade, trip, explosion. Or uou can open them with notepad++ and have a look to be sure.

This is awesome to hear! You are correct the last time I checked on this mod was several months ago for my fiance. She too uses a dual core and required shadow map mod to play with me. She will be happy to know its back!

Thank you for your reply.

It's confusing because the old one is still up on modworkshop in a totally different section than the new one and the new one is being updated very far into the old thread in modding, so it's easy to miss.

It's kept up to date here http://modworkshop.net/mydownloads.php?action=view_down&did=17314
