Yacht heist artefacts?
So... Has anyone found all of the optional-loot artefacts on the Yacht heist? We spent all day yesterday seraching, and we only managed to find 7 of the 8 artefacts. What we found is:

4 Artefacts in the sliding windows hallway between the passenger cabins on the main deck. They're little stattuettes in the decorative pillars.
1 kinjal in the wine and cigars room on the main deck. It's on the table in a holder.
1 kinjal on the reception table for fundraiser on upper deck 1. It's on a stand on a table under a banner.
1 stone tablet on a table on upper deck 2. It's in the party room, towards the stern of the ship.

A friend of mine said he'd heard something about a painting, but we've not been able to steal any of the hanging paintings so far. Anyone have any idea what we're missing?

I thought there was only 7 artifacts, and the missing painting.

the painting could be an bug or just not placed anywhere we can grab. I havent really given the map a complete run for the painting.

There are 7 artifacts and 1 painting on the map, and I don't believe there's any variation between difficulties or random spawns, but I haven't exactly been looking. You already outlined the location of the artifacts, so nothing to add there.

As for the painting, there is one as I mentioned, but I'm not aware of any way to actually get to it. In case you're wondering, it's on the main deck in the same area as the numbered rooms (where the 4 artifacts are), towards the front of the ship. There's a large glass display containing a statue and a map on the wall inside it, and the painting is inside the wall behind the map. In order to actually grab it, you need to enter the room behind it and delete the wall from the world. Deleting the wall and grabbing it doesn't trigger anything in particular, and attempting to secure it will simply result in it falling out of the map and respawning on the ship where you threw it off. Either there's a trigger somewhere to make it accessible and useful for something (though I've not found anything, nor have I looked), or it's simply a leftover asset that is not important. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Edit: I should mention that it's technically not actually a painting, but a light artifact like those in the museum (that look like paintings).

Edit 2: Screenshots with some custom debug waypoints in case you're interested.

I've also tried to get that as well by grabbing through a wall like what might happen for gage packages (no luck). I've also tried to saw, shoot, and even blow up the glass with trip mines and they didn't work either. However, if you use trip mines near the glass, you can blow up the statue. =)

Edit: when you deleted the wall and grabbed the artifact / painting, did it count if you secured it on your back when you left?

The interaction point is actually only reachable from the other side, so even if you break the glass and remove the map/wall that is in the way, you couldn't interact with it from that side. You need to approach it from the adjacent room.

I did not try completing the heist while carrying it. I don't think it particularly matters as I'm fairly sure you're not supposed to be able to access it in the first place. The museum also had a few of these artifact paintings that were spawned inside walls and couldn't be reached, but I'm not sure if that was fixed when they remade the map for the medieval DLC exhibit. Not to mention several other maps that have piles of money or gold outside the map bounds for no particular reason.

Ah, that would explain it. We were judging artefact numbers via WolfHUD (yay, it lives! :)) and it shows eight, so it's very likely counting that "painting" as well. I don't actually know if the Museum has any fake pick-ups like that - I don't use the HUDList option for it personally. I do know Hotline Miami Day 1 has something which counts as loot but is not reachable. I remember people were asking about a Falcogini on Alesso, as well.

But the long and short of it is there are 7 artefacts and something that shows up as loot on HUD mods but actually isn't. Gotcha. Thank you kindly for the help.
Seven Feb 11, 2017 @ 6:24pm
I don't know if WolfHUD has changed how the light artifacts are interpreted, but I made them paintings as it shared more attributes in common with them than the other artifacts. It's a separate loot type at any rate. You wouldn't see the extra loot in the museum anyway, nor several other maps because I hard-coded the statistics gathering to ignore those particular loot units, which I haven't done for the one on the yacht yet. HM1 shouldn't have any unreachable loot showing up though.

As for the car on Alesso, it's actually for the forklift. The same would happen on meltdown, but I'm fairly certain I took care of that by ignoring that loot type.
Malidictus Feb 11, 2017 @ 6:39pm
Yeah, we've not seen any extra loot on Alesso or Meltdown - that info is from the days of HoxHud.

I'll have to turn on that option for myself some time and check it out. My friend who always runs it is using the latest stable version of WolfHUD, which is from before Scarface, if not from Housewarming (I don't remember). Could be his display is picking up something you've fixed since. He does, however, always see an extra bag beyond what we can find on Hotline Miami Day 1. I looked up a guide on loot locations for that heist, checked all of them - nothing. The guide creator, however, suggested that that heist had something which "loot mods" would pick up but which can't be reached.

It's 5 AM now, but I'll have a look with loot aggregation disabled to see what that's all about.

Who knows, maybe there only is supposed to be 7 pieces of additional loot. Though the number seems not right with me. It would've been nice if it was an even 8 pieces of additional loot. I know they're not worth too much, but it's that special feeling when you clean house.

I spent 40 minutes rubbing my face into everything on OD to find all the loot and eventually I ended up rubbing my face into a guard. He was not happy being mistaken for loot.
Malidictus Feb 13, 2017 @ 12:43pm
Incidentally, I just checked Hotline Miami with the loot counter enabled and it didn't register any non-existing loot. I'll compare notes with my friend when the opportunity allows to make sure both our WolfHUDs are seeing the same thing. If so, then we simply failed to find a bag every single time. If not, then Seven's fixed it since my friend's WolfHUD was last updated.
