aggressive reaload combined with high value target. that should give you a small damage boost with a faster reaload speed, if you go for headshots. You could alos use sneaky bastard and low blow to make a dodge sniper build. Furthermore you can also put a silencer on the weapon and use specialized killing and the the professional skills to get some more damage and accuracy.
I hope this will help

I'll tell you how to make the Contractor .308 one of the best weapons to use. It gets so good you won't even need a secondary in Death Wish. In fact, I'm now bringing a saw in secondary for lulz.

I'm all for crit builds and before this weapon I mostly used low dmg ARs with crits.

Crits don't play well with DMRs and Snipers though. You want your one shot to get a guaranteed kill.

You need Underdog for 15% dmg bonus and Berserker(aced) + Frenzy (basic is fine).

That's all. No need for crits or supressor.

160 * 1.15(Underdog) * 1.4 (berserker at default 40%dmg from start) * 3.75(headshot) = 966dmg

Enjoy killing elite, tans and cloakers in the head in DW with one headshot and fast reload and fast RoF and good pickup, while also killing shields and shooting through walls. 2 headshots will kill medics and tasers.

You might wanna get a supressor and get the 15% dmg from Specialized Killing, but it's pointless really. Underdog is active almost all the time and provides the needed bonus at just 1 skill point.

After that, it's up to you. Skills that improve accuracy and reload are good. Aggressive Reload aced makes reloading the sniper a joke. Not much reason to ever use another DMR or sniper.

I never used the Contractor 308 with frenzy and berserker although I know it's possible. In my opinion this rifle is amazing and one of the best weapons in the game even without frenzy and berserker. I will give it a go and see if its even better. And you're right you don't even need an secondary when using the Contractor 308 but I tend to use the Baby Deagle because I loved it since the moment it came out with the Point Break DLC furterhmore you can get up to 32 concealment with the pistol, combining this with a Contractor 308 modded for concealment you have a realy viable dodge build

Treat this thing like a Car DMR, basically same everything except accuracy and ammo.

GeneralMcBadass has a build on the contractor here

I have seen his video. But he went on and aced sneaky b*sterd and low blow and i thought that that was a bit of a waste, because the contractor has quit a lot of concealment for a sniper rifle. So i came up with this build: http://pd2skills.com/#/v3/mABDfNqr:eFL:tR:ggJKLnOPQr:fDFHL:ibcdea:pR0::w87:s98:a1
If you use the contractor and a baby deagle together you can get up to 4 concealment. (you could use other pistols like the gruber or bronco but i like the baby deagle a lot)

Thats a good build but aced "The Proffesional" and "Steady Grip" isn't really needed.

thanks, I kow I could do without those skills but if I use them my secondary and primary have both 100 accuracy. And for a build focussed on headshots, good accuracy is rather useful. Furthermore there aren't realy a lot of good skills I can get when i have some points left from not spending them on The Proffesional and Steady Grip. Maybe Shockproof or Transporter but those are bit redundant.

92 acc is good enough for DMRs and snipers and 100 stability is pretty useless on semi auto guns, I'd reccomend getting the marksman skill that give you 8 more acc in singleshot.

Steady Grip is a great choice. 1 point for 8 accuracy? Awesome!

Same deal for Underdog. It costs only 1 point for the same bonus of Specialized Killing of 3 points. If you've used huds, you'll see it's almost always active.

Also, try the zerker + underdog combo. You don't really need supressor skills, but if you want you can stick optical illusions aced for Low Blow basic with a 32 concealment secondary (micro-uzi, bronco, bernetti, gruber). Criticals will benefit your secondary, but that's about it, since you'll be killing with one headshot any common or shield in DW anyway.

Only Specialized Killing aced, or even with Underdog, is not going to bring your dmg up to a Tan's headshot breakpoint (256) in DW. So not really much sense in going that route..

If you don't take zerker, you're going to have to rely on a 30% chance to kill a tan in one shot in DW.

I have tried a Berzerker and Frenzy combo but i tend to play with a dodge build, using those skills with a dodge build makes surviving realy hard on higer difficulties. I know that with my build my damage output is just a little bit to low to kill tazers and medics with one or two headshots. But with a 30% crit change I don't really have much difficulties killing specials on DW and OD.

Your build should be enough to kill tazers with 2 shots on OD, considering you aced specialized killing. Oh and how much acc/stab does your contractor have without steady grip aced and the professional aced?
The Stranger Mar 5, 2017 @ 7:46am
with:
100 acc
40 stab
without:
92 acc
32 stab
The Stranger Mar 5, 2017 @ 7:49am
Oh and tazers go down realy fast I should have said that. Only the medics are diffucult to kill. They take around three headshots

while on the subject of this weapon, is there anyway to use Iron Sights for this rifle, I had a search around but the current mod for this does not support the Contractor, is there anywhere else I could try?
The Stranger Mar 5, 2017 @ 8:26am
I don't think so, there are no weapon modifications that let you use iron sight
