Is High Value Target aced worth it?
I always have this skill aced in every build except stealth but I didn't see people use it in too many builds. I think 10m isn't that far and the extra 65% damage bonus is amazing. Marking enemies while aiming down sight is great too, especially when they use smokes. Curious to see what you all think about it.

I think I only have one loud build that uses it, but I also use it in my stealth build for enhanced marking duration. It's pretty good overall, it's just that I usually have too many other things I want to take with most builds so I end up skipping this one. Certainly not a bad skill though. I think the basic helps the team's damage too but I'm not as sure about the aced effect.

Oh, and I think it's 50% extra damage. Like, the ace overrides the basic instead of adding to it. Still, it's quite a powerful boost.

It's a pretty underrated skill. Better than SK in a lot of situations.

its nice with sniper rifles

Idk the thing is there's a distance cap on HVT which directly contradicts the way they clearly intend people to use it. If anything I think it needs to have this cap removed or needs a rework to the aced version.
Personally, I only use it in stealth.

10m is basically the distance to the top of a 3 story building. Except it's tough to know in game because distance units rarely feel like they do in real life. It's a good point though, I may take that distance measuring scope into combat just to get a sense for what the game thinks 10m is.

you can cheese with it when the cops use smoke, and when you are using a shotgun or something you can lazily ADS spot a special for extra damage as you melt its face off. the bonus gets seriously useful on OD

I have it in every build.

I like it because it's a direct damage boost for all specials, and the only requirement is to be a small distance from them. I also like to be able to ADS for a quick second and mark cloakers who are rushing at me before I start firing.

Grab a Theia scope and measure the distance, it's really not that far in this game.
It's a very easy to proc skill and I love using it

Ok I checked with the recon scope. 10 meters is exactly what it feels like in real life. If you don't have the scope go to your safe house, just outside the garage, go right, stand with your back against the retaining wall and look across to the wall on the other side (your living room wall) and that's 10 meters. So it's a fairly large distance in game.

Makes me want to try sociopath which is 75% chance to proc panic in 9 meter radius around you when you get a kill.

On my ICTV Sniper Build a must have 😉
Its a pretty neat skill to have. Especially with snipers. Lets you automatically mark specials and also reach some breakpoints

I've thought about using it a number of times but honestly in my OD builds (and I only really play OD) I'd rather use the points elsewhere. I usually don't have space for luxuries. Maybe I can find room for it somewhere in the next build I try out...
