Getting cheated out of achievements because of crashing. GOTY material.

The crashing in this game is getting ridiculous. 9 times out of 10 I crash towards the end of a heist. I'm running a $900 rig that isn't even a year old. There is no reason I should be putting up with this. It's not even just me. My friends were running a deathwish goat heist for the achievement, and I as well as one other both crashed at the same time. When two crash at the same time like that, it's a sign of bad code. And because you don't get achievements for joining late, even if it's rejoining after a crash, it costs us the achievement. I feel like I wasted my money buying this game. It's fun, but only when it works. It's because of this that I don't think I'll be buying Payday 3.

I went through a period where the game would crash 1-2 times every session. This was very abnormal, as I'd played the game for 2 years beforehand without issues. It was an annoyance at first, and then became a severe frustration.

In the end, I backed up my save file, uninstalled PD2, cleared out all remaining files/folders, reinstalled, and restored my save file and everything worked fine. No more crashes.

Another culprit, make sure your drivers are up to date and there aren't any other programs running in the background that are causing the conflict (these programs could also have recently updated, making them new issues of conflict).

I'd start with ensuring video drivers are up to date.
Next step (remove any mods you may have first) would be verifying your game cache:
- RMB on PD2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files
Then try closing out other programs that are running to see if the issue persists.
If so, do the full uninstall/reinstall last.

Pasting your crash log in a thread on the Bug Reporting subforum might get you an answer, too. I dunno

My profile is private because I've got an ex friend stalker. And if I was using cheats, I wouldn't be complaining about crashing screwing me out of achievements, I would just use such cheats to unlock them for me. So this comment accomplishes nothing more than make you look like a colossal ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm giving the verify cache fix a shot. If it don't work, I'll try unintalling, though I'm probably not going to follow the reinstall step, because quite honestly it's unacceptable that I'm dealing with this in the first place. The fixes pertaining to mods like Hoxhud don't apply to me, since I don't have the patience to set those up and keep updating them every time there's an update.

I shouldn't have to ask for help to get my game to work. You see, back when I was a kid, you would buy a game, and it would work. The game wasn't always good, but it would work. That isn't the case in this age. Broken games get sold and remain broken for a long time, and fanboys just kind of accept it and throw the blame on the player. I have standards and don't stand for it. The sooner people stop ignoring bug infested games and take a stand against it, the sooner something will actually be done about it.

Which is the real sad thing about this community. It's one of those ones where there's just too many white knights that defend even the worst flaws. I'm still dreaming of a day where they revamp the stealth system... know what? Was gonna make a list about that, but I think I'm going to start a separate thread for this one, because I've got a lot of ideas.

You can block all communication with him, you dont need set profile on private.

You look like a total space cadet in payday 2, so allow me to educate you.

A private profile is a sign that you dont want to be caught using "some third party programs". And those programs are causing the crashes.

Being in a certain group will also help people figure out that you are using "another third party program", which is also commonly the root of all crashes.

That doesn't stop them from joining me in games like TF2. A lot of games you can join someone even if they've blocked you. Seriously, try it.

As for mods, as I said in a previous post no. I used to use Hoxhud, but that was on my old computer. Never touched it on this new one.

Are you really this stupid or are you trolling? As I said, if I were using cheats I wouldn't be on here ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about not getting achievements because of crashing, I would just use the cheats to unlock them all for me. Just looked. Access violation. I looked into it and apparently that is to do with the cache. I'll take note of where the crash dump is for future reference. Thanks for the tip. Still incredibly lame that in this day and age people have to do crap like this to get their games to work.

Most of the crashes are mods or software related. Un-updated OS, can also cause crashes.

Win 10 is a really nasty thing, when it comes to gaming. Mostly because it's still in beta stage. And Microsoft sucks at releasing working and stable software.

OP, if you and your friends experience constant crashing Im 100% sure it's not the game. Otherwise most of pd2 players had already reported this.
So again, sort your ♥♥♥♥ out before blaming the game and next time post a crash log first.

Making your profile public helps identifying the problem, because most players install CrashHud aka HoxHud and then crash constantly blaming the game, while being a member of CrashGroup.
