Also, practise...
Like the guy above said. Practice.
I also had difficulties in beating heists on stealth, but after some time I get enough experience and now I can beat every heist.
10 hours is nothing. Its all about learning knicks and knacks of the game, the AI and the maps.
If they can't see you, they can't detect you. That means even a super thin pole can be used to block their sight between you and him if you manouver well enough.
Even experienced players have it rough. Luck plays a part as well
The game is easy as hell, mainly the stealthy part.
I know PayDay2 isn't Metal Gear or Splinter Cell, but its really frustrating just to do something minor, like get a key card and use it on a security room (although I can use EMP now, but you get the point).
I do highly recommend starting on Bank Heist maps because there are exactly 4 guards so you don't have to worry about using too many pagers. Use cameras to lure guards to you (breaking a camera while the guard in the security room is still watching the cams will make one of the other guards come check on the broken camera). If ECM isn't working for you, try using trip mines as sensors so you can keep an eye (or ear) out for when guards are moving somewhere you can ambush them.
The best way to get better is to just keep practicing. It'll be frustrating at first.. heck, at times it can still be frustrating even after 1,000+ hours, but practice makes the skill.
And if you get to the point where you want to pull out your hair, try pulling up some videos of other people stealthing the heist you're trying. See their strategies and techniques, and see what you can learn from that and incorporate into your own style.
If you want someone to stealth with, I'd be happy to tag along with you and help show you the ropes. More than half of my playtime in this game is solo stealthing, because I reeeeally enjoy the stealth mechanics in this game. I taught my sister how to stealth, I wouldn't mind helping you out if you wanted. If so, feel free to shoot my a freind request. I've stayed up late addressing threads on the forum, so I'm about to crash, but I'll have time tomorrow (or I guess "today") and over the weekend though.
I have played the game for 1000 hours. There are maps I think is hard to stealth...
Start with Bank Heist, Four Stores and Jewelry Store. 4 or less guards so you can kill them all, watch out for cameras, learn how detection work, learn how and when to use ecm.
When you have learned the basics start with Art Gallery, learn how to move and how detection works. You can NOT kill all gaurds ;-)
It might take you hundreds of hours to be good at stealth. When you are too frustrated play loud instead - that csn be difficult too so dont start with the higher difficulty :-)
