Is kingpin a dodge or armor perk deck?
You need to recieve damage to use the perk to the fullest, so which is better dodge or armor?

For me, is neither cause it was health related build.

However, at difficulty Death Sentence. 2 piece suit is a better choice for it.

For DW & below, ICTV is the better option.

Why?

Cause at DS, unit deal over 200 damage per shot. It doesn't matter if you are wearing suit or ICTV. As long as you have armor while injector is active, you would be healed when you get shot. Since your armor is going to be gone in a single shot regardless what you wear, you might as well wear suit for mobility.

Ah, so it does indeed work when I take damage even with full armor?

Yes. It only doesn't heal if you have 0 armor while injector is active.

On DW, ICTV is better because your health can be regenerated when your armor is taking damage after you use injector.

On DS, why don't you use Stoic?

Don't confuse others.

Your health regenerate when your armor is taking damage during the injector duration, not after.

At difficulty below DW, ICTV is a better choice than suit since the enemy damage would not break the armor entirely in a single shot.

On DS, Stoic delay damage over time & negate it entirely when using flask. Kingpin on the other hand grant a near invulnerability effect while the injector is active if you do not have any armor.

Invulnerability effect.

To get the general idea, look at the effect of the kingpin in this video of mine at minute 1.20, 3.22 & 3.50 when the injector is active (With & without armor).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9N6TxAwKYio

Please take a few note such as...

After you are healed, the next shot always deal damage before invulnerability effect is applied such as being shown at 3.50

Bewary when facing dozer with shotgun.

Juuuuuust gonna use stoic from now on I guess?
I thought kingpin was a perk that lets you run to the other end of the map and be okay. Like swan song immunity for 6 seconds

They do. From my personal experience, only the 1st shot after armor break always deal damage. Afterward, it provide invulnerability for the whole injector duration.

Like I said, to get a general idea on how it work. Watch a video gameplay of kingpin & paid attention on how the armor & health is effected when the injector is active.

notice that noo_billy said "after you use injector" and not "after the injector duration ends"

ot: kingpin is better for armor, but you should probably just use stoic

Aaahh!! Oh well!! Mistake do happen.

Knowing my past discussion with him, I am being sceptical of being wrong.

It does work event if you have 0 armor. The thing is that it will just heal less then or equal to the amount of damage you took, making you not GAIN health.

There are rare exceptions to this: If you take a hit that would deal more health then you currently HAVE but LESS then your maximum health is (taking frenzy into account) , then you heal up to that amount.

Off topic, but I recently discovered how hilariously broken kingpin is with the commando RL. Pop the injector, kamikaze a group of enemies and run away before the injector wears off. Cooldown is practically non existent because of all the enemies you just nuked.

That sounds insanely fun but insanely impractical.

I mean the only skills really needed to accomplish this is basic lock n load + the left side of the ammo tree. You can still get inspire and stuff.
