Game crashes at "Press Any Button" screen

I was playing Payday 2 just fine a few days ago, then one night later I boot it up and suddenly I encounter this problem where when i press a button to get into the main menu, the game freezes for a few seconds, then crashes. So I try again a few times, and it keeps refusing to work. Uninstall and then re-install, the game still has the same problem.

I used HoxHud for a while but a week before the problem I made sure to get rid of all the files that it put into my PD2 folder and the game still ran fine.

Did anyone else have this problem and manage to fix it?

Yes, I did and it still doesn't work

No, I do not, and I made sure any extra files that were put in by mods I got rid of

It looks like you have turned on the Alienware LightFX in options and it crashes your game. You can try update to latest Alienware drivers or try removing the Payday 2 settings file (called "save000.sav").

Thank You! My alienware drivers dont really work, so theres nothing I can do about that, so i'll just get rid of the file. Thanks!
