GO Bank: Why is it missing from PD2: Crimewave Edition?

Before I begin this disscussion, I have to answer questions that I KNOW some of you out there are going to ask...

- Yes, I own PAYDAY 2 on PC -- played it for 1,100+ hours w/ all achievements at the time of this post -- and no, just because I own it on PC doesn't mean I can't discuss the console versions.

- Yes, I own a copy of PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition - specifically on the Xbox One. I am level Infamy 2 - Level 86.

- Just because I own the "superior" version of PAYDAY 2 on the PC doesn't mean I can't give a d**m about problems on the console versions.

- No, PAYDAY 2 does not run poorly on my PC, performance issues is NOT why I play PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition.

Alright, let's begin.

So one of the most common heists you'll find new players/ casual stealth players on PC performing as an easy means to accumulate massive amounts of money in a shot time period is the "GO Bank heist".

Unfortuneatly, for console players - GO Bank is NOT available to play in PD2: Crimewave Edition.

Now the issue with this wouldn't be so much of a problem if not for some reasons/evidence pieces that only make this worse:

1) OVERKILL did not disclose/confirm/deny/ say anything about GO Bank and if it would come out on consoles.

Now the counterarguement to this piece of evidence is that not showing GO Bank in the list of content available was merely an oversight by OVK, but that would also mean that not adding the heist itself into the game would be another oversight.

But when you consider how OVERKILL has handled they're communication -- i.e. poorly -- for the last year in 2015, the idea of OVERKILL leaving GO Bank out of the next gen versions of PAYDAY 2 by accident doesn't sound as far-fetched as it first appears.

2) GO Bank is advertised as being in PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition.

OVERKILL released an offical trailer for PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition, for those of you that have not seen it, I have posted it below.

At the 12 second mark into the video, you will notice a short clip of Wolf wearing a "Tipsy Santa" mask, giving the middle finger -- though blurred out -- to a civilian's phone recording.

That clip was part of the ORIGINAL GO Bank trailer released in Dec. 13, 2013.

It's still available for viewing, even on OVERKILL's offical YouTube page.

If you watch to the 2 minute and 20 seconds mark of the video, you'll see the exact same scene that is used in the Crimewave Edition trailer, two years later.

Even if placing that clip into the CrimeWave Edition trailer two years later was a mistake/oversight made by OVERKILL, it is still considered false advertising, as GO Bank is not available on the Xbox One and PS4 versions.

Also, an almost identical version of the PD2:CE trailer plays as an opening intro EVERY time you start up the game. So in a way - your constantly reminded of a heist you CAN'T play.

3) GO Bank is a map created based off of an older CounterStrike: Global Offensive map - CS:GO is a game available on console.

Now I'll be the first to admit, I barely know s**t about CS:GO, and I actually hate the game myself. But I KNOW for a fact that CS:GO was available on Xbox 360 when it came out. (And maybe on PS3, I did some research into that, but I'm not a PS player, I don't know where to look for information on offical PS3 games that actually came out.)

Of course the best reason I can come up with why Valve would have a hand in this is because they don't give a s**t about they're console player base, as shown when they abandoned support for Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and CS:GO itself on consoles.

But the fact is, CS:GO was and STILL is available on Xbox360, so why would Valve cut off CS:GO related content in OVERKILL's own game when porting it over to Xbox One and PS4? And why do it now?

To conclude:

This is an issue that can EASILLY be fixed/resolved if OVERKILL would just simply put out a statement about why GO Bank is currently not available in PAYDAY 2: CrimeWave Edition. But yet again, we're in a scenario where OVERKILL -- A development team who said in the last months of 2015 that they're gonna start listening and communicating with the community again -- are not saying anything about this issue.

I mean, after all... Payday 2: Crimewave Edition has been out since March 2015, and they still have not addressed why GO Bank is not in the console versions.

My reiteration on this topic is based off of others thoughts on the matter -- including yours -- , yes. But it always got on my nerves that a portion of the GO Bank trailer plays as part of the opening intro to PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition.

In that way, it feels like the game constantly reminds you of content you won't get to see.

That explains why I never found the map where Wolf was flipping the bird in-game...

But I've been wondering about this absence myself for a while. There's no reason to not include it, and yet they didn't. It wouldn't be the first time a Valve cross-over didn't make it to consoles, granted. The No Mercy heist from the first Payday never reached the PS3 version of the game, though that could be chalked up to the fact that Payday 1 was a PS3 exclusive on consoles, and Left 4 Dead 1/2 were X360 exclusives on consoles. And as you stated, CS:GO lacks this exclusivity. And I'd like to think that Overkill wouldn't be so inept as to simply forget to add it to Crimewave. Seems too big to be an accident.

It is a shame that it is missing. I can't remember if it was ever added to the 360 either. It's been too long since I turned that console on.

Aside from this, the biggest problem I am finding is people do not seem to know what the concelment level is :p I keep trying to do stealth missions and people join with max concelment :D So, feel free to add me on XBL if you want to play as I am going to assume you know what you are doing :p

Maybe people keep joining with a bad concealment rating is because the matchmaking on Xbox One is awful - it's a quick join system that puts you in ANY kind of game. More often then not you'll be placed in game sessions your not properly equiped for.

I'm talking about people hosting stealth missions. Besides, you can search for specific jobs on the XB1. The people I come across have high concelment due to their guns, they aren't wearing armor and are trying to do the missions in stealth. Sadlty they often don't seem to have headsets either or are in party chat as they aren't responding when I try to help them.

The fact Overkill haven't talked about this yet is absolutely disgraceful. The console community deserve to be kept informed especially when it comes to content missing from their game.

So this is a pretty old discussion, but also having played on both platforms and with the release of the new characters and dlc for console I was still curious what ever happened to go bank and found this old twitter post, unfortunately my toaster no longer runs payday ;-; and so I play mostly on console now until I can upgrade.

Well, at least it's a clear status on the situation : not gonna happen due to cpyrights, unless something changes, but very unlikely.
It's still better than many question left unanswered. Most of us would rather have a bad news than no news at all, because that's the only way going forward.

Unfortunately these devs have shown exactly how they feel about the console player, i forget exactly what quote was but something like "go buy a pc"

I only say this because i assume its public knowledge at this point that the console version was junk, avoid it at all costs bad, some pretty big issues that have plagued the game since release. You out of all people should know all of this because youre also a pc player.
Why on earth would you support that kind of business in the first place, not trying to be a smart arse just curious, i understand our gaming is sometimes more about being social w friends on whatever platforms they own but this is a mess on console and suggest people buy something else that isnt gimped.
