Shaped Charge Skill
A small change; flip the Basic and Ace around, so that the skill gives you it's namesake instead of more mines.

Why? at that point you'd only have three charges and that would open exactly 1 large-ish safe..
or you know those doors that require three charges only thing it'd really help on is Bank if an inner door is present then just blow it open.. but otherwise its not so useful.

Which is what acing it is for, the extra. If the skill isn't going to give you shaped charges off the bat, might as well rename it.

Suppose I only have enough skill points to only "own" the skill, I would much rather have 3 shaped charges to blow open one door as opposed to 6 trip mines that I'll never use.

The point of making it the Aced version is make it cost more points. Shaped charges are one of the main game changing skills, thus they require a lot of points. Same goes for Inspire Aced and ECM Overdrive Aced. In my opinion, it's pretty balanced with the other similar skills (in fact it's the same as ECM Overdrive).

The saw is another one of those "game changing" skills, yet it's still unlocked with basic. Anyway, I don't think this'll upset the balance too much, seeing as how the main power in shaped charges lies in the amount of C4 you have to work with.

That sounds legit, 3 charges between 2 players would limit, ammo, health and ecms to open 1 big safe, IE 2 people bring the charges for 6 total or one basic, one aced, 9 charges, 2 big safes and someone just saved 8 skill points.

Shaped Charges is useless without the extra mines, It will open 1 security door or 3 small safes/lockpickable doors.

So either way you'd spend the whole 12 points on it so it would change nothing.

4 charges (Demo man + Unlocking the Tech) would be enough for 1 big safe.
3 Charges = 1 security door

The skill is ok-ish, where it stands, howver, from my playtime point of view, I have seen a total dissapearence of C4 users.
The main cause is, that things can either be ECMd, or Sawed instead, giving no "purpose" for specing in tech.
Shaped Charges stand on Armored Assault only, where people respec, use it, then respec again, 2 with c4s can open 3 trucks, and have assured loot for the escape...
then again, removes 2 deposit boxes per truck, removing loot...
Another disavantage to C4 users..


Skills have been altered before, and some became vital, (to the point where the skill was removed in favor for it becoming all players like the Smooth talker...) and gameplay have also changed (the dominator in stealth, the 4 pager limit, etc)...

Shaped charges need a huge buff... on a personal note, I have tried to come up with suggestions on most skill, please, check them

If so, (at least the techs part) try to help me, offer acceptable replacements, and offer them to Overkill, as a possible solution.

It would certainly help out the tech tree. Once you're into the realm of min/max-ing, the tech tree is just too much skill point investment for too little useful skills, even with infamy reduction.

False, getting in to tech with mines gives 2, demo man only gives 1 more so you still only have 3 charges. and i feel Charges are fine where they stand. they could use a slight buff for DW.

Wouldn't really make a difference, I made a discussion about switching shaped charge and blast radius once because it didn't feel right, since all the other deployable increase skills were at that tier. But after I read some comments I realised that overkill made a good choice to place tech skills where they are.
Except the crafting stuff.
Ugh.
