Color in the inventory icons

I'm not familiar with mods but I know there is a popular mod that colors in the inventory items. Trouble is I think that mod also introduces a lot of other stuff I don't want. And mods tend to cause problems with the game and nullify bug reports.

What that were real instead, maybe in the options menu. I mean with all the guns, all the masks, and all the outfits we have now its hard to pick them out from the monochrome shadow impressions in use right now. I know its the Crimenet art style but I think I'd rather be able to easier find what I'm looking for in the menu.
