CHARACTER SUGGESTION: Italian Mobster Character!
Hey everyone! So I actually have a playable character suggestion for you! (I know some of you are immediately going to shut this idea down as you don't want any new characters but, let's be honest, there will be new playable heisters whether you like it or not)

Considering what this game is all about, I’ve really wanted an Italian Mobster Style Character to play as in this game. Seeing a Yakuza character added has only heightened this feeling. The character could be an amalgamation of iconic characters from classic Mafia movies such as Goodfellows and the Godfather. (Before anyone complains that this is a stereotype, yes! Yes, it is! And the reason I want it so bad is because I, myself, am very Italian.)

THE CHARACTER HIMSELF
I currently have no ideas as to what his name would be or what his mask would look like. If anyone has any suggestions, post them below! Maybe an old fashioned Italian name like Giovanni.

I’d imagine he would be wearing a pinstripe suit like this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/89/9a/78/899a78853ae71a4dd9aee8fce4da0acb.jpg

He would be an older man in his 50’s or possibly even lower 60’s. As for his hairstyle, it would be thick, longer, gray hair like an old gangster would have.
Here's an example: https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?id=JN.BYzr36XzYQBZ4e9Zm482Rg&pid=15.1

His voice would be like that of a classic 1920s style mobster from the movies (A heavy new jersey or Brooklyn accent). He could make several references to these films as well in his voicelines. The main joke with him would be, just like the mobster stereotype, everything he says sounds extremely suspicious and defensive as well as very quick to insult others. Some examples are below:

Answering a pager:
“What do you think I can’t do my God-d*** job? F*** you.”
“Oh yeah? Well, I think YOU sound suspicious. Who are you, huh?”
“I cannot confirm nor deny any illegal activities taking place at this particular establishment.”
“Don’t worry about it. Just…don’t worry about it.”
“The h*** do you want? What are you in love with me?”
“You know I’d be a lot better at my job if you weren’t calling me all the God-d*** time.”
“Sorry about that. Gina just walked by. You remember Gina, right? With the legs down to there?”

Identifying special enemies: (While calling out specials, his lines imply he is actually calling out to the enemies he’s identifying, not his allies)

Dozer: “Look at this fat f*** over here!”
“Got a dozer! You think I’m scared of you!?”

Sniper: “Sniper! Come down here and fight me like a man!”

Shield: “Oh! Big man with your shield over here”

Taser: “See that taser over there? F*** that taser over there”

Cloaker: “Cloaker! Can you believe this guy?"

While using inspire on teammates:
“The f*** are you doing down there? Get up!”
“What are you having a God-d*** tea party? Get up!”

FIREARM WEAPON
Primary:
M1918 Browning Light Machine Gun (suggested by Quibone)

Remington Model 11 Shotgun (suggested by Quibone)

Beretta ARX-160 Assault Rifle (suggested by FoxythePirateFox)

Secondary
Beretta 93R Pistol (suggested by FoxythePirateFox)

MELEE WEAPON
Ice Pick
Falcata sword (suggested by FoxythePirateFox)

PERK DECK
Most of the perk decks that have been coming out have been focusing very much on the solo run-n-gun style of gameplay as opposed to grouping up and playing as a team. I think that having a proximity based buff perk deck could help bring the game back to latter. So I present to you The Don/Mobster Perk Deck!

The Don/Mobster (Let me know which name sounds cooler!):
As we all know, the Mob focused more on the family than any individual member with the worst offense possible being betrayal. Keep your family close and you’ll all be stronger for it!

1. Welcome to the Family - When any member or your crew is within 10 meters of you, you both take 5% less damage. If they are within 5 meters of you, you both take 10% less damage. This effect does not stack.

2. Helmet Popping – same among all perk decks

3. We're Professionals - When any member or your crew is within 10 meters of you, you both deal 5% more damage. If they are within 5 meters of you, you both deal 10% more damage. This effect does not stack.

4. Blending In – same among all perk decks

5. Bloodpact - When any member of your crew is within 10 meters of you, you both heal 1% of your health every 5 seconds. If they are within 5 meters of you, you both heal 2% of your health every 5 seconds. This effect does not stack.

6. Walk-in Closet – same among all perk decks

7. Organized Crime - When any member of your crew is within 10 meters of you, you both gain a 2% chance to not consume ammo. If they are within 5 meters of you, you both gain a 5% chance to not consume ammo. This effect does not stack

8. Fast and Furious – same among all perk decks

9. Extensive Influence - The size of the proximity of your buffs is doubled. Instead of 10 meters, it is now 20 meters. Instead of 5 meters, it is now 10 meters.

So there you have it! I hope you've enjoyed this and if you have any ideas that could be added to this, please let me know in the comments! I would love to actually send all of this to Overkill in hopes it would happen! Thanks for reading!

Wow, this is actually well thought out ! 10/10, would buy !

I like the perk deck thingie.

As for the weapon, how about the Remington model 11 or a M1918 Browning, looks like old classy weapons.

I got a better idea:

Chef's apron and hat
Pizza cutter melee weapon

Those quotes are amazing, good job.

*sigh* You know,we kind of evolved since the 1920's...

For those pager lines alone, I would love it.

And I have never liked any new character, MAYBE with the exception of Bonnie with PocoRose. Nothing beats screaming "F*** A DUCK" in the middle of a bank.

I've updated the OP with the weapon suggestions you've given me. Thanks! Glad to see you're all enjoying this idea!

For some reason the name "Vinny" comes to mind... but for something deliciously ironic, what if his heisting name was "Angel"?

Pretty good. I can see that you have been thinking this through compared to many of the other characther suggestions you see where people seem to like.. come up with everying in 5 min XD ( nothing wrong with that, but they often result with stuff being way OP.)

Really good job on that! It was nice of you to provide a picture of his hair as well. Picture are always nice, I would say if possible get as many pictures as possible for all the differant stuff ( like suit, weapons etc.). Much easier to share your vision with people that way.

Keep up the good work! ^^

For the gun my vote go for the browning 1918 as Quibone suggested. Such a cool gun and really populer robbery weapon in the old days.

No of course you are so right, I apologise if I in any way offended you or Italy ! ^^ Of course Italy is in the same time era as the rest of the world.

However pure gameplay vise I dont believe any moderne Italian weaponry would fit into Payday2. All of the moderne italian ones that I can think of are already in the game like the Spas 12, Beretta pistol and the Mateba.

I do know however that Italy has a bunch of moderne weapons like the Beretta 160 for example that you suggested and other cool weapon. Please notice however that Payday seem to choose weapons that are popular famous guns from movies, games, history and such. The beretta 160 is not one of them, its just simply to unkown.

The Browning 1918 however is a famous bank robbery weapon ( Bonnie and Clyde for example )
and we already got the tommy gun. A gun that its almost as old as the browning. And I think its not about time and place. But more about a classic mafia look. Which the Browning portray more than well.

And he is suppost to potray a mobster in the US right? He had a brooklyn accent and everything after all. But I do understand what you mean.

EDIT:

Some italian weapons that could fit are the PM12 and the Spectre M4 !

I would buy it..

Why does every Italian need to be involved with the mob?

I know right? It's so unreasonable to think that a professional heister and bank robber would be involved in some sort of organized criminal network.

What I meant was why is it that every time someone makes an Italian criminal HE ALWAYS HAS MOB TIES! Why can't be be some gangster or something.
