Can we get Bain a better meth cookbook?
Having him tell you the wrong thing on rats is really frustrating. And it happens as host and even if you verify with other players he said the same thing then it will still end up being wrong at times. Especially problematic on pro jobs or deathwish where it would pose a problem.

Yeah. He should always tell the right thing.

Also, payday logic:
Caustic Soda = NaOH
Muriatic Acid = HCl
Hydrogen Chloride = HCl

Mix them:
HCl + NaOH => NaCl + H2O = Saltwater.

Yes, Bain should get a better cookbook and a book on elementary chemistry.

Would you rather have the game follow authentic instructions to cook meth?

This is completely unhelpful and fairly irrelevant to the point, when it ends up with you being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over in pro jobs because the game decided to ♥♥♥♥ you (to no fault of your own) and in deathwish makes it impossible to proceed even.

I know that was a joke around launch. Funny, but makes sense. Why teach people to cook real meth lol. But it's frustrating when he tells you the wrong ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing and it ♥♥♥♥♥ you over. Luckily the last time it happened we were on bag 5. He tends to want to do it at the start though. And then there's the times where he repeats his lines but he keeps changing them between you and someone else.

Like one time we were playing and he said muriatic for me, caustic for my friend. Then he said caustic for me and muriatic for my friend. Then flipped them again. Then he said caustic for both of us. Then he said muriatic for both. Then muriatic for me and caustic for my friend.

I just love how the recipe for cooking meth changes for every batch you make...

The funny thing is: Bain is NEVER wrong. Even his "wrong" lines indicate a right ingridient. It's that accurate that even if he straight up says a different one, you can insert the right one.
Note that there are only four of those lines - and all are for Hydrogen Chlroide (three are "F*ck me, we needed those cooks. I'm going with <ingridient>", covering all ingridients. "Chloride Soda mix" is also a Hydrongen line).
Then there is the "I have no clue-line" (these internet descriptions are iffy), which is always Soda.

Acid is the ONLY time he never says something else. There is a line where he jumps from Soda to Acid, but that, in the end, is still straight up saying "acid"

I refered to that guide for the line: "F**k me, we needed those damn cooks. I'm going with caustic soda." (and also it's helpful with some other lines) Which according to the guide is meant for Hydrogen Chloride. Everything else seems to be fine and I've never had it so Bain tells the wrong ingredient except for that specific line. If Bain tells you the wrong ingredient in different lines then sorry for being unhelpful and irrelevant as I've never encountered this problem.

Only Bain can give you wrong instructions, and then yell at you for following them when it blows up... :P

Kind of ♥♥♥♥. I never knew about those lines being for something specific, so maybe I got lucky every time he said ♥♥♥♥ me and I threw something in. Really need to fix the dialog lines for that stuff, I'm going to have to test it out in the future and see what happens.

There is no need for fixing when it's intentional. And there is not much testing. As said, those lines mentioned are the indicated ingridients. And if you also keep in mind that one bag requires all three ingridients either way, you always narrow down what's needed anyway until you can add the last one blindly.

You can narrow it down by that, but it doesn't help when he tells you the wrong one that you haven't used yet.

Except, as said for the third time, he doesn't tell you a wrong one - every line is specific for an ingridient. Even if the line itself mentiones another ingridient.

Tells you the wrong ingredient -> isn't wrong

lol ok. It being for a specific thing doesn't change the fact that you're told the wrong thing.

I get what you're saying, but look at it like this: there is no right or wrong. Each line of dialogue corresponds with an ingredient.
