The campaign was good, but the PVE is bad and boring
If we compare the same game in the PVE industry, I think Space Marine 2 is the worst. The game lacks grandeur, fun, and smoothness. The PVE needs a complete overhaul, especially the maps. Look at Helldivers 2—despite having a much smaller budget, it manages to create star-level PVE maps that make sense and feel massive. Unless the developers enjoy nerfing, I’d like to see the Space Marine 2 maps improved in the next patch. If it remains the same, the game will end up like WWZ and Evil Dead—goodbye.

Please check games that are actually good, like vermintide which this game isn't far off in mission design

Are you kidding me? The maps in this game are epic. The level of detail is insane. I also play helldivers and love that game also, but the combat in this game is much more satisfying IMO

Gotta be a troll post. Helldivers 2 is a fun game, but it's major weakness are bland auto generated boring maps.

I’m not kidding you; I’ve played 80 hours and my class isn’t even level 25 yet because I got bored before reaching that point. The repetitive gameplay system of this game is just nothing. It’s just clicking into the PVE mode and playing for half an hour over and over again. The atmosphere is always the same, nothing changes, and there’s no challenge. It’s weaker than Darktide. Darktide has a sensible 40k theme and offers engaging and challenging replayability. Helldivers 2 has a truly large-scale war theme with expansive maps. You don’t have to walk in a straight line like old games. It has the atmosphere of a massive war on a planet, which is different from Space Marine 2 that feels like L4D with a 40k mod. It’s utterly ridiculous and pointless. It doesn’t even have an FOV slider. The 40k table game I have is more epic than all six maps in Space Marine 2.

Is this really what 40k PVE is like—just narrow maps, small enemies, and 3-player teams? Do you even know 40k?

I’ll be watching to see if you can play PVE for more than a month lol. And I’ll also be watching to see if the daily player count exceeds 10,000 after three months.

Youre missing the fact that all -tide games are balanced unlike SM2.

At the highest difficulty levels, people only use meltas because they drain health and are powerful. If there are no improvements, the game will die just like that dumb WWZ or Evil Dead.

Those games have had a load of time to improve on their gameplay loops after release. SM2 will do the same and has hit the ground running.

100 percent agree

What’s disappointing about this company is taking side missions from the campaign and turning them into PVE missions, which lack replayability. They have a large 40k model within the company but fail to bring the atmosphere of what it is into the PVE mode. This needs to be urgently improved.

Not every game needs to be played for thousands of hours.

Because you are playing lower difficulty and not finding geneseed. Already have a heavy at max level and 2 others at level 10 and 11 in around 30 hours.

The missions in PVE mode are secondary tasks, cut down from the campaign. They lack the polish and creativity they should have had. Meanwhile, the company is making a fortune from the fanboys of this franchise, but what we get is the developers' laziness. Do you think that's fair?

I've played every difficulty level in PVE mode. Yes, it's easy and boring, and the rest of the time I spend in PVP mode
