The key issue is that parrying can interrupt almost any animation and dodging can not. Add in the fact that with this latest patch you're rewarded with an easy armor block for parrying any attack a minoris does, and there's just no real incentive to play a dodge-focused class. Assault's identity should be reconsidered and adjusted, the game is clearly focused on the parrying with occasional dodging. Dodge windows are all kinds of wonky anyway, especially if you're trying to fight a Carnifex or Hive Tyrant.
u can infinitely jumpack dodge and destroy a horde by never ever hitting or shooting your weapons.
yeah some perk are bad but some perks are just the playersbase are too stupid to understand and use
222 2 321 3 for the perk tree , full lower branch for fencing hammer
to open fights either land on a majoris , light + double heavy , execute then take off and one shot the next majoris ( or more if they're bunched up )
alternatively you can grab a gaunt to activate your landing damage boost
pistol is there to stun sentinels when you're out of fuel or pretend to help when there's a neurothrope
