And that system was put there by square enix because they designed every part of the game!
That's deep.

Nobody said there are thousands of Pod 153 and 42. WHere'd you get that? But even so, it's absolutely possible for one pod to have even several hundred bodies and one consciousness, anyway - that is established in the short story "A much too silent sea".

Ray, when someone asks you if you're a say YES.

R-D's(and miyuko series) one are automatic used when you not running/jumping.
mea and DOS's one are manually. when you push shield button, you will be protected from bullets.

Aha, okay. Thank you very much! Seriously, I get more and more impressed with how much depth this game has. When I bought it I honestly was just expecting a silly fanservice game, but it's a lot of fun trying out different characters with their very different play styles and team combinations. There's still plenty I don't fully understand, but it's got a lot more meat to it than plenty of other indie games out there.

In topic B + X finisher
Nah, in the moves list for Yuki's Conviction katana and chainsaw there are actually alternate finishers that can be done by tapping B and then either X or Y. The one for Conviction is called "Impaler Slash" , B and then X. The one for the chainsaw is "Grindhaus", B then Y. I know the latter one is something unique, she wraps her legs around their waist and then cuts their head/shoulders off with the saw. Impaler Slash from what I can tell just seems to be identical to her normal X finisher, "Sever Slash". Near as I can tell anyway.

In topic Questions
Got a gameplay related question that I can't seem to find an explanation for in the manual. Certain characters have listed as part of their loadout (either for Fire or "Unique Skill") an ability called "Covert Shooting". I've been able to figure out quite a few of the loadout things just by experimenting (though Miyuko Stealth's alleged inability to be locked on to still confuses me, since I've locked onto them plenty and been locked on as her plenty).

But I can't for the life of me figure out what Covert Shooting means for R-D or Mea. What am I missing?

It's a very different animal from Salt & Sanctuary, be warned. If S&S is a 2D Dark Souls, the Dishwasher is a 2D Devil May Cry. I've loved this game since it first came out on the 360 though, it's a great action game with a very distinctive style and atmosphere to it.

I haven't tried so this honestly isn't snark, just confusion...does the game not warn you that there are penalties when you go to switch faction...? I know there's a loading screen tip but that coming up is pure chance.

Regarding the gear side of things, the other day i was fighting a Berserker who failed every block then popped revenge, the revenge gain on injury from his gear must have been insane.

Pretty sure Berserkers get a Feat early-ish that let's them fill Revenge meter with attacks.

You weebs have set your smelly unshod feet upon Viking land! When the Great Raid Part Deux comes and Odin sees us clear to your very doorstep, I will be there! And you know what I'm gonna do? I'm NOT gonna take my shoes off before I enter your homes! And none of your fake-bearded masks can make me!

I believe there is such an option in custom games, though I haven't tried it. I was an option to set damage levels, and it ranged from 'no damage' to 'lethal'.

In topic Burying all GOOD posts: Negativity & Complainers
Thanks for all the valuable advice, folks. The Conquerer's 'perfect block' thing even against heavies has been one of the most vexing parts. Will try some of this.

In topic Burying all GOOD posts: Negativity & Complainers
I like the idea of this. Let me start. The one class I have most difficulty fighting against is Conquerers. Not because they're OP, not because there's anything particularly unfair in their design--I've even tried playing one, and it's a lot of fun. But I find it painfully difficult to get around their defenses and do any real damage rather than just feeding them Revenge or getting klunked on the noggin by a frighteningly fast charged Heavy.

Anybody got any suggestions? I tend to play mostly Valkyrie and Raider, though I do like to branch out for variety's sake.

The OP is salty because "honorable" Brawl players are expecting him to play the way they (the "other people") want him to play.

In doing so, he's also being the "other person" who is expecting someone to play the way he wants to play, and is getting fussy when that doesn't happen.

You keep on swingin' with those semantic efforts, though. C for effort.

This is objectively incorrect. There is no invisible wall or other direct gameplay mechanic preventing one member in a 2v2 from interfering with the others. This is why it is called "2v2" and not "1v1". 2v2 is a team based mode in which one is expected to help one's ally to win if that is possible. The one who is not expecting some sort of self-imposed "honor system" to prevent him from helping his teammate is in fact playing the game as it was designed and laid out before him.

The person who is expecting him to not do that, as if the game design itself is somehow preventing this, is the one imposing artificial rules upon others in a public setting.
If "realism" were of any sort of priority in this game then the Knights would be unstoppable juggernauts, Samurai would be mostly ranged archer types who barely use their melee weapons and Vikings wouldn't have horns on their headgear.

This game is about the idealized fiction of three heavily romanticized "warrior cultures" duking it out in a fantasy battle royale. And being a video game, certain general rules apply across the board to make it, well, a game. Otherwise certain characters, especially the more lightly-armored and unarmored vikings (lookin' at you, Raider) would just die in one or two hits.

Wouldn't surprise me. That's been a thing since Mortal Kombat, likely even earlier. I don't hate the bots as much as the OP, but I know he's right that even mid-level bots will frequently input-read your guard breaks and interrupt with improbably-well-timed Light attacks.

When the AI doesn't wanna be thrown, you will NOT get a throw in. Unless maybe you parry...

In topic I feel like this needs to be said.
I honestly wouldn't mind it so much myself except...don't assassin classes, according to their Moveset page, get bonus Renown for solo/1v1 kills? Unless I've misunderstood something, stealing their killing blow is just gimping their Renown gain, slowing their unlocking of Feats that would benefit the team.

Now, if I AM wrong that's great...but the 'getting backstabbed by my own kill-happy alleged ally' thing is still obnoxious and not conducive to teamplay. There's a method to 2v1ing someone well, without giving them free Revenge.

When you tell the Servan to use its skill, that IS the Burst; everything else they do on their own, you have no control of that.
