Not true I beat all 6 missions solo on Veteran , Find a LAS sniper and it becomes ez

na you can beat it on vet solo, there afew parts where ur have to defend an objective that can be really bs, but its doable. ofc much easier coop but thats like any game

It isn't impossible. I'm playing it on Angel of Death with bots and already halfway through the campaign. Totally doable, it just comes down to ability/determination or the lack of them.

I was about to ask the same question. I play on Veteran and the AI is utterly useless.
They don't respond to commands, they don't focus the enemies you want/need them to. They keep ignoring the ranged ones and elites, which makes fighting an enormous pain in the ass.

The only thing they seem to do is beeline it you in order to revive you, other than that the AI seems completely useless.
You could probably beat the game on Veteran, but it's unnecessarily hard this way.

The game is set up for multiple Marines and quite a few people actually need them, if only to suppress the ranged enemies.
If you can't deal with those properly or in a timely fashion, the game becomes a slog.

It's not impossible but it is pretty sloppily implemented. I haven't been juggled like this in a long time and I bought a Tekken game this year.

play on normal, its how solo player normally should play. if you want hardcore achivements and not do anything you have thinking issue

I just completed the story on Veteran with the AI. AI were almost completely useless. So many times they just stood there and watched them do nothing or deal 0 damage. Even worse when it's the "Ring" of the hill. The NPC AI don't reduce the ring smh. I should accuse them of heresy.

Yeah, this true for the most part, the game is clearly intended to do co-op/teamwork. Thing is if it is a skill issue, then trashing the game because of own lack of skill,determination etc is totally the wrong way to go.

Having played through 3(?) missions on Veteran I agree that the AI squadmates are worthless. They're good at picking you up when you're downed but absolutely pathetic at dealing damage or killing anything except the weakest enemies. Not to mention they just seem to shoot at whatever. Two melee elites breathing down my throat? Bots are off shooting something else in the opposite direction completely ignoring the real threat.

They also seem adverse to executing enemies. There have been multiple times where one of the bots was closer to an executable elite than me and they just walk away, leaving me to sprint over and finish it off.

One of the very first missions has you face off against a Lictor and the AI was incapable of damaging the thing. Even when the boss was aggroed on them, the thing's HP bar barely moved. I dunno if if they do lower weapon damage because they're bots or whatever but elite enemies do not die unless I'm the one hitting them.

Then in one of the later missions you have to defend an objective. I got into the 2nd phase with the objective at almost full HP, figuring I could leave the bots kill the weak enemies while I killed the elites. NOPE. They couldn't even manage that. By the time I dealt with the elites the thing was down to 25% HP.

That was the point that made me say "forget this, Imma just turn the game down to normal." Imma take a wild guess that veteran and above are 100% tuned for a full squad of real people. Trying to deal with everything yourself in some missions is just brutal.

I just finished it on Normal the AI is a bit dumb but it's not like what i've seen in other games. Sounds like a skill issue
