How do you deal with Zoanthropes?
Is it me or these guys are insanely overtune.

They seem to zone in on you with no gap in their attacks and when you have the chance they are so bloody tanky. Can't melee them either as they are in the air. This and compounded with all the other buffed dudes whacking you.

Plasma pistol, overcharge shots, only takes 3-4 shots, then execute the bastards

the bolt sniper rifle can take them out in 3 head shots without any class upgrades, they are strong but quite manageable with the right team or gear or tactics

Depending on your difficulty you're going to have to deal with them being bullet sponges while you take pot-shots and deal with the ground forces unfortunately. There's no quick way to take them out until they fall/are executable. So if you see them fall teleport over to them (run fast as ♥♥♥♥) and spam E or the execute button.

Except for a single mission... where it is absolutely imperative that you take them out ASAP so that you can progress without taking out the ground forces (infinite spawn)

The Mission: Spoilerssssss The Mission where you are getting Nozik's data. When you enter the base/lab and have to deal with Ripper swarms. When the Zoanthropes appear enemies won't stop spawning until they die.

My weapons of choice were a sniper personally, but the bolt rifles will get the job done as well (especially in the early missions) however for the mission... since it requires you to use the pyro/flamethrower leaving you with a pistol you might be SOL since the AI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just remember that the Zoanthropes take priority when given breathing room but spam that pistol and hope to god you're landing headshots.

i suggest taking the heavy bolt rifle for pretty much every campaign mission you can.

it manages to have some of the highest damage per magazine + minimal recoil for the single downside of taking a while to deal damage (compared to something like a plasma weapon or sniper rifle).

but, you can use it on every single enemy effectively. you dont waste it on trash cause its damage profile still fits them, but it has enough punch to deal with single targets like CSMs and ranged warriors, zoanthropes and such.

also, they are a priority target for the whole team and if someone isnt shooting them they are wrong (barring bots obv)

I'll take note of this. I'll usually use the heavy bolt pistol but these guys are making me feel like taking more higher damage options.

But still to survive 3-4 overcharge shots, dammit these guys are crazy tanky.

I've found that there's usually a stash og Krak grenades somewhere nearby when there's Zoanthropes... I hate them with a passion myself.
But one krak should put them to "Execute" mode, at least on Veteran Difficulty.

Hardest enemy type so far.

Then again I hate Zoan in every games I play against nids.

This is currently bugged right now against 2 zoanthropes with plasma pistol they are both shielded regardless of visual indication, please go here and upvote https://community.focus-entmt.com/focus-entertainment/space-marine-2/bugs/2720?page=1
