You do you but I don't wanna hear no lip about this game being grindy later.
Then you could go either for Muramasa/Crisom Scythe/Nightmare for damage boost or for Doom Blade for "Destroy/Break Armor" and it's hidden skill that applies extra damage to bosses.
After that there are plenty of blades with different effects and stuff - some seem to be basically variants/upgrades of pre existing ones (Grudge Axe is sort of a upgrade of Doom Blade, for example), but I wouldn't recommend investing your resources on many of them at the same time - or else you're gonna need to grind for real.
With that said, Festive Specialty is a A rank weapon that has native life steal if you max it's passives (it doesn't seem that useful otherwise), and Singularity Slash can give a shield for characters that don't have it natively (if you unlock it's third passive).
Also, other "broken" weapons like Berserker Great Sword and Thunder Sword only get really powerful after you unlock their passives. That way, even the straight up "bs" stuff like Red Lotus Saber and Miracle Blade can be used mostly as normal weapons as long as you don't unlock their abilities.
So you can just use them without upgrades until you really feel like you need the upgrades/can't resist unlocking them any longer. But after that, there's no going back, lol.
