that begs the question, what will happen to our characters if we have one in Connery, and another in Emerald, what happens when those servers merge, do we end up with the two characters in one server? or would we merge the characters as well?

well you can only have one name per character despite on different servers, back when the Australian servers was a thing my character was merged into the Asia servers with no issues (from what i can tell) so it would most likely keep both characters and just move it over from the merge

So everyone thought that the PS2 team was the one that was sacked but you waited a month to let everybody know it wasn't and everything is fine?

In the mean time people cancelled there subscription think the game was over.

I think once their contracts are fulfilled, they are gone. The news articles about it explained that a little more than the devs did here.

Just merge the servers. Better to have queues than constant dead servers.
