I play Solo

The game is MMOFPS. There is no single player campaign. hamman54 means he plays without friends or an outfit(like a clan).

If you are looking for single player FPS you can try Metro 2033 or Metro: Last Light, although they are both not free. Mirrors Edge is another good option, you can find it really cheap now.

There is no Singleplayer, if you are talking about Offline mode.

It's an mmo, so if you are planning to play it on your own you can do that but you probably are going to have a bad time

Can I find random people to play with, or I need to bring friends?

I would recommend you bring friends, but it's not necessary, there are a lot of outfits that recruit all the time. Of course you can always join the a random fight without any invitation whatsoever.

Its an MMO its only multiplayer, but if you want you dont need to be in a outfit/squad/platoon, you will be a pub then.

What I do most nights when the rest of my outfit's not on (it's a bit of a small one), I just open up the menu, check the Social Tab's section for Squads.

When you make a squad (the equivalent of a party in more traditional MMOs) you can open it up for anyone to join it from that menu. Can't speak for every server and faction, but the Terran Republic on Briggs (the Australian server) tends to have a few platoons running every night that are run by bigger outfits but open to the public.

I just join a platoon, drop into the fight with them (if you're in your faction's warpgate, you can just hit Insert to deploy to the spawn point closest to your squad leader, handy way to get to the front-lines after logging in) and stick with them. Generally, if it's a whole platoon (two-to-four squads of up to twelve players each, grouped together for better co-ordination) then they should be using the in-game voice chat to co-ordinate. And if not, just follow the squad and platoon waypoints they place on the map and stick with your squadmates.

as has been pointed out, the game is multiplayer only, and you can join any public squad. personally, i mostly go alone though if not playing with friends. works best for me.

No, no singleplayer mode
lol, sorry to laugh at the question but by now I think you have the answer, no, there is no single player. On the other hand you don't have to join an Outfit and can just go at it as a lone wolf.

There is no campaign. It is a sandbox world. You make your own plan.

You can play on your own and still work together, because of covering and healing others.

A new player typically does not not know where to go and should join a squad or outfit.

Before playing you should search YouTube for PlanetSide.
