xbox 360 controller support any good now?

been gone for months and was wondering is the x360 controller is more effective and functional now.

i may be biased, since i always prefer keyboard+mouse over controller in FPS games. however, since PS2 features no level of auto aim assist i can only see playing by controller as being problematic in regards to aiming, unless you actually perform better with stick aiming instead of mouse. piloting vehicles vehicles could work though, but i have not tried it yet.

I only use the xbox controller to fly. Mapping the commands is really the only tricky part. but i can't quite get the sensativity right though, if that is what your wondering. I wouldn't bother with a controller outside of a vehicle in this game.

@Basho what allot of people don't get is people dont use aim assist i never did because it aims at body and i like headshots. Xbox controller is harder to use but once you get good with it at very high sensitivity the physical distance traveled by the thumsticks compared with mouse is about 1-2 mm travel on xbox on high sensitivity which is the key compared with maybe 5-25 mm depending on sensitivity with mouse the precise movement is done through two tendons instead of having to coordinate a hole hand for the movement which means less factors to interfere with the accuracy of the movement. Pc community seem very stuck in there ways and opinionated for most keyboard and mouse is better but for the pinnacle of gaming you need xbox controller. if that did not make sense. when i get a headshot i move my two thums 2 mm and its aiming at head with mouse you prob move your hole hand and arm 5-10 mm.
I'm not having a go at mouse users just don't understand how you can say one is better when you used aim assist which in xbox community is a sign of a true noob.

itchy, sorry but you're wrong. In FPS mouse and keyboard will always reign king, you don't have the finesse available. Even Microsoft a couple of years ago did a play-test trying to find out what would happen if they cross platformed the xbox and pc. What they found was even a moderate pc player would decimate a someone considered a 'pro' xbox player. As for flying in PS2, I would like to see support for controllers since I find it easier myself as well to use them for that purpose.

the analog sticks are really bad on the 360 controller anyway. complete and utter garbage.

you would be better of using a ps3 controller on any pc game the sticks are way more sensitive.

flying in this game is simple with the mouse and keyboard. even for me im only using the M/K setup about a year and a half. i've played consoles most my life even tho i've always had a good computer.

a controler will be better on pc for someone who is used to using a controller over mouse and keyboard but you will be at a disadvantage.

If you are saying ps controllers are better then you dont know what your talking about i used to think the same untill i got an xbox then realised xbox controllers are way better. They would never use xbox servers for pc thats really dumb to even surgest with pc loads of people mod and the servers are ♥♥♥♥ because there is no money to be made from pc gamers so it would be highly detrimental to xbox servers to combine with pc as xbox has the best servers fact and they can do this because they charge the user for online service. The best gamers who play fps all play on xbox or ps because of controllers and servers. I could go but it will fall on deaf ears all pc gamers are the same stuck in there ways because everyone who is not has moved on to a bettter system. (I have high end pc to get the best out of games with good graphics and play a wider range of 3d but console will always be better)

If you have small week hands then ps are prob better as they are to small for me and dont have enough resistance on the analog also you cant be as accurate with convex as you can with concave. They are also not in the most optimal of places. The analog sticks are not more sensitive on ps they just have less resistance.

i use both and i have big hands. i was just saying the sticks would be better to use on a pc game.

the xbox has a better layout for FPS games but the sticks really let it down, play bf3 on pc, xbox360 and ps3 like i do and you will know what i mean. the same game. its easier to go from playing with a mouse to using a ps3 controller than a 360 controller in the same day. i bought the adaptor to use my 360 controller on the ps3 but i was getting owned so i stopped using it.

360 pad with dualshock sticks with nintendos d-pad would kickass.

yeah...itchy is really showing that he is a moron. Sorry sciptkiddie, but PC is not dead and company's still make a ton of money from us. Why limit yourself to a mediocre gaming performance with the xbox or ps4 only? The best will always be pc, hands down. The best games and gamers again are PC. I was a pure Xbox player for many years, and I have to say that the Xbox controller is a horrible idea for this game. For some reason, I have my weapons mapped to my D pad, and the game will not let me select my primary weapon, ever.
*Edit* Also: the sensativity is way too low. I have it set to the highest, and I'm still not turning as fast as I do in COD or Halo

you must see the diferance in users and the differance in servers it is not something to argue over its fact why do you think so many games are designed for console and then badly ported for pc. As for players cod and battlefeild best players are on xbox or ps. saying things like

just makes you sound abit imature.
ps I have high end pc and know the benifits.

you are prob right have not played this game becasue read it had bad controoller support. Got tribes ascent instead and have not bought any guns for it and not played many hours but got a 1.2 kd with xbox controller and its the first multiplayer fps shooter iv played in about 4yrs.

I want to use my controller to pilot vehicles but when I tried it last you had to manually bind everything and when I run PS2 I just want to shoot things, not faf with controls.

I use xpadder to bind the controls for my ps3 controller. I'm still new to the game but I do find myself losing close confrontations as I don't have the sensitivity cranked up.
