Imagine if they used all that time, money, and energy in making Buildings, bastions, and the Colossus tank, and instead used that to make more weapons, vehicles, and maps.
Furthermore they introduced two game breaking bugs related to construction recently that forced me to pause playing for a long time. You couldn't farm cortium for 3 weeks until they patched it. After the patch released to fix it...it didn't fing fix it! They silent patched it again a day later to actually fix it.
2 weeks ago a bug popped up where all construction areas became no-deploy zones even though they werent no-deply zones. I uninstalled after that. Wasted hundreds of hours farming certs for construction only for them to break it and nerf it in the process. Im SO HAPPY I stopped purchases from this game years ago. Worst DEVS ever. Possibly worse than Blizz Devs.
Was for that because the old shield module made the construction immune because without it a base last 20s, "Cheese castle" would be a more appropriate name for this update...
Construction is much weaker than before, but it is much more fun to play as infantry and modules mechanic, agree with that.
Another bad thing is the terrain, we told them we need flat surfaces to build on because it's a hell to build on a non-flat area...
Devs pls just clear the terrain of silo-leter bases, remove some rocks and trees, clear the area, leave the silo-leter with generous space and you will see awesome bases there...
Make all silo-leter bases like Esamir Tapp Waystation base, amazing place to build 👍

Expect thats not how it works ever, fortifying an existing premade location? Sure thats cool
Creating nothing but road block after road block where you spend hours fighting over a road not even fighting on a point? Lame, horrible, aweful.
The issue is the nature of fortifications is a flawed one, no one ever designs a fortification with the intent of "Oh im going to make an enjoyable and fun spot to fight on."
Its always, "How can i make this the most annoying and awful location to fight over humanly possible?"
Fortifications are just horrible, and seriously, i would challenge anyone to actually think of a time, that you legitimitly enjoyed fighting against a fortification, when was the last time, especially since the update that you roll up onto a fortification in the middle of the road, and think "Oh boy! i cant wait to fight this!" vs "Oh boy, here we go again."
A player base might have some short time impact on a single fight for a fixed lattice base, but after the fight is over and the real base is either conquered or defended, the frontlines will shift and the player base lost its purpose. So nobody will defend it anymore.
And an undefended player base is nothing but an XP pinata for a few lightnings/main tanks.
They are just annoying speed bumps, that dont offer anything interesting or fun. Its just a location for people to spam vehicles out of or spam flail kills...wew lads.
The bases where important to winning the continent. And so players care about them and came running to defend a player base. It was great fun.
So, the core of construction is good, it just needs a reason to exist in the flow of battle.
Aside from a bit of XP, there is no reward for defending or destroying a base.
Yeah, it's such a small percentage pop numbers have crashed to lowest numbers ever.
(sarcasm off)
Oh look, a zerger who thinks he has an inalienable right to zerg from one side of the map to the other completely unopposed, just because they herded the most amount of cats together into one spot.
I would rather fight on points, not on roads.
