There isn't a single "cert maker" in the game, and chances are you'll always experience buyers remorse.
That being said, keep the turret (not that you could get rid of it), and play engineer for a while, you might get some mileage out of it.
Overall this however reminds me of the old suggestion for people to invest their first certs into an AMS for their Sunderer, believing it would make people a lot of Certs. In truth, most things you spend your certs on, will only give you a marginal improvement and it is almost always a better idea of improving class skills and abilities over saving up big money to buy some special weapon.
Investing in medic/engineer specializations is a realtively easy way to gain certs as well. If you like vehicles engineer might be the way to go. If you find yourself more a boots on the ground type then go medic. (The medic regeneration field is great for passive cert gain and only costs 30 or 50, I forget which.)
Also, Ishan makes a valid point that there is no magic cert grinding weapon/mod/vehicle. The best thing to to is find one or two classes you like and beef up you abilities/defense/etc...
There was no refund option last year.
Anyway... just play the Game with your preffered Class... the Certs will roll in anyway.
