1. I'm not a cheater
2. and for the record, nzkiwi68 might be a bit of a giveaway that I'm not a kid either...
I haven't cheated, I strongly suspect whatever anti cheat detection software is bundled into PS2 has quite simply generated a false positive on my PC.
You'll change your mind if this happens to you.... banned, no told exactly why, no evidence presented, no ability to speak to anyone, no recourse.
second, did you have any kind of 3rd party overlay program running?
as overlays that isnt from accepted sources could cause a hit in their anti cheat code.
I could say that he is as unlikely to be cheater as anyone I know, that he is my age - in his mid-40, family man and IT professional, owner of successful business., person with great integrity and a life.
It all doesn't matter because most cheaters who decide to complain for being banned will work out a background story to present themselves as someone more likely to be saint-sized than cheating material, and for people who don't know such person in person, every story is as believable as the next one; God knows how many times I have frowned on somebody's claim that he/she was banned in completely unjust manner... and how many of those were real cheaters or not.
So let's leave that aside.
What would make me concerned, though, if I was observer without any connection to (or knowledge of) the OP is the way Daybreak is handling this. Surely they can reveal some info - if not how nzkiwi68 was caught, then at least what was hen doing that earned his immediate ban. Their action looks like equivalent of real police breaking into someone's house and arresting that person because "he did something wrong but they will not give any details regarding what he has done because he might use that knowledge next time to avoid being arrested for the same crime".
It shouldn't work that way. Proof of someone's wrongdoing cannot be "trust me, you did wrong". It should be documented in a way that leaves no doubts. I want to be sure that nzkiwi68 was not banned for killing Daybreak employee/game admin a few times, causing rage and abuse of power from that person... among many other reasons I could imagine for illegal ban.
Keep up the good fight, nzkiwi68.
I do run Over Wolf... but, big deal I thought...
* I use TeamSpeak
* I run Overwolf (for TeamSpeak for the CNOH outfit I'm an active member of)
* I did have the recursion stats tracker installed, but, I didn't run it because it caused video problems and I actually didn't like it, so, I have uninstalled this anyway, but, as I said, I wasn't running it anyway
* I do have VMWare VSphere client tools on PC, V5.5 for work and I have read about someone else that was banned incorrectly because the anti cheat system thought they running a VM - well, I'm not running a VM either.
* I had FRAPS installed, but, again I didn't actually run it when using PS2, so I've uninstalled that too.
Look, it really really REALLY has to be a false positive.
Edit: Wait, now i read it all.. You actually cheated on an alternative account from your same IP address... ROFL .. And you think you wouldn't get ban on your main "paid-up" account?! ...
Damn this is such a rightfully and deserved ban, that i actually gave a loud applause!..
Also you got your cheater friends to reply to this thread and defend you haha :D This is so awesome and pathetic at the same time.
Wait till it happens to you... play for 2 years, paying player, enjoy the game, never cheated and poof!
* Locked out!
* Accused, but, no logs or evidence.
* no ability to defend yourself
* No recourse.
* Simply branded a cheater
As I say, if it happened to me, it can happen to you.
It's not like SOE / DayBreak have ever made software that didn't have ANY bugs right?
So - therefore - their anti cheat software could NEVER MAKE a mistake, right? Since their software is perfect...
Now thats ROFL
You mean like a man of mid 40ties, IT professional, owner of a successful business and person with great integrity and a life? You could have layed on a little more thickly by mentioning him going to help at a soup kitchen every sunday after church.
The way they are handling this is standard in the industry.
And here we have the difference between the Government and the private sector. The TOS, which you agreed to, clearly states that if you break the TOS they can close your account. Simple as that. There is no judge, no jury, no hearing. That is a standard in the industry. And as mid 40, family man and IT professional, owner of a successful business and person with great integrity and a life, he should be aware of it.
Because a mid 40 family man and IT professional, owner of a successful business and person with great integrity and a life would actually believe that some GM would risk their job over something like this.
As for the OP... dynamic IP address or not, doesn't really matter, considering that your account was banned. If it had been an IP ban, a simple reset of your router would let you play again.
I doubt it was a false accusation. The VAC section or games like CS:GO are full of these "i was falsely accused" posts... honestly, this whole thing sounds like a big "i didn't do it".
