platoon/squad leader question
I just started with this game and I always join a random 12 man platoon.
Yesterday I suddenly had acces to my spawn beacon and got loads of squad ribbons.

Today I can't use the beacon anymore, I figured out It's because I'm not a platoon leader.
I'm just wondering..How do you become one? Because I've never made a squad or platoon by meself yet I had access to the beacon.

Thanks! =)

You have to be "Squad Leader", you will have a star icon in front of your name and you will have control of the squad. ( you get the power to dismiss people from the squad and the beacon for example)

A Platoon leader has control of minimum 2 squads and a maximum of 4 squads.

To start a squad simply invite a player by typing: "/ invite insertname" (Without the markings).
Once you have somebody invited to the squad you can edit the settings for that particular squad.

To start a platoon, invite a squad leader :)

You became squad leader because you were next in line, all those above you had left.

Hold down q while tageting an ally and you will be able to invite them to squad, or it will be greyed out (meaning they are in a squad already) by moving your mouse to the option. There are leadership certs. I suggest you get the first lvl of squad beacon and at least one smoke (so you can tag enemy sunderers on the map for other allies). Leadership chat is nice if you plan on working with others.

If you don't create the Squad you can become squad leader either by designation or by default. If the Squadleader leaves without giving it to another person, the highest BR becomes squad leader.

And just to add to the additional Q abilities, which i find awefully underutilized by most people:

If you Q on capture points and such (and have the appropriate unlocks) you can also give priority commands to your squad, like telling them to focus on C point. Having those arrows around a capture point makes it a lot easier to know where the Squadleader wants you to go/be.
