Should I buy the Artemis Scout Rifle?

I want to be a close-range Infiltrator and the Artemis is the cheapest auto weapon that I can find that fits these conditions. However, after looking online on reviews for the gun, the Artemis doesn't look so good. So I don't know, should I buy it? SMGs are really expensive, but am I better off with those?

NS7 PDW with compensator and forward grip. It's the only SMG that has a significant range and precision over range. Basically it's a Carbine that pretends to be an SMG. Although it has the lowest DPS of all SMG it's by far the most versatile.

If you want to go REALLY close then you should probably choose the Sirius or the Eridani, but both lack the medium range capability of the NS7.

The Nyx and Phantom also aren't bad medium range rifles, but not so much for close range.

Theres no point in getting the forward grip or compensator on the PDW since it already is very easy to handle. I would get the Artemis if you are low on certs, i have, put a silencer, laser sight, and either a 2x scope or a IRNV scope. It turns the gun into a higher damage SMG.

I have the Stalker (the NC equivalent) and i equipped a suppressor and a 3.4x scope on it. It's quite versatile, although you'll surely have less problems than me at longer range (without bullet drop).
At close range, get a low-magnification scope because otherwise you'll end up firing from the hip, and with a low mag-size you'll most likely run out of bullets and be forced to switch to pistol.
At medium range, however, don't be afraid with the recoil because it will help you aiming for the head and they'll drop like flies. You'll feel like having an assault rifle.
At longer ranges, shoot in short bursts. Or even in semi-automatic. Or you'll empty your mag and literally tell the enemy "hey, i'm here, shoot me!".
Anyways, remember to always reload. You have a low-cap mag, so if you encounter 2 enemies, you'll most likely be in trouble.
